Welcome to Twenty Point Ridge! Meandering over the rolling hills and cut out of the old Oak forest of central Iowa, this 7,162 yard par 72 is a classic midwestern style championship course. It gets its name from the large number of big white-tail bucks that roam the area and are frequently sighted on the course. Hole 6 par 3: Hole 9 par 4: Hole 12 par 5 tee shot: Hole 15 par 4: 17 & 18 from behind 18 tee box: Enjoy your rounds! *Slight disclaimer, I did 80% of the planting and environment creation in the 5 hours leading up to the deadline, and unfortunately wasn't able to finish. So please excuse the sloppy and incomplete planting.

Just played it. Nicely done, a really cool traditional style track. I liked playing it.
Cheers,

Thanks for the review, wish I could have been with you live to explain the elements you had questions about. I would imagine based on your comments that you haven't played much golf in the midwestern US. Some things I definitely could have improved on if I had time, but did the best with what I had. The next project is already underway, and should be better!

Thanks for the play and review, definitely some good insights for how I can build the next course. And yes the neighborhoods were unfinished, and 100% houses placed on grass in about an hour. The course overall is incomplete. The course was designed to challenge players to think about where they're placing the ball and make every shot; long irons, accurate short irons, draws, and fades. I feel I might be getting a little undue criticism because of the "fast" meta on a couple tree placements, but all of the elements and strategy are taken directly from real world experience and a lot from Arnold Palmer designs. I did have a reason for every hazard and obstacle, but a player not understanding it from a cold playthrough reflects on me as a designer, a well designed hole doesn't require an explanation. Something to work on in future.

Something to work on in future. I have to admit, I like the trees in strategic positions that force players to hit multiple shapes of shots. Sometimes due to a dogleg or bend and a tree you just have to hit a cut to fit the ball into the aggressive space. Otherwise, take medicine and lay back to the point you can hit it straight or the stock shot. Every player has a “stock shot” but the best can play both ways, high and low when needed.

Gday dude, great entry into the contest. Keep up the good work and feel free to hit me up in the future if you have any other course come out.
