This will be hosting a CUCC Ryder Cup event tonight at 5pmEST. Very nice looking track and cannot wait to see the rest of it.
rhin04life and taff1980 most likely will be streaming this match

So yeah this is a super course. Couldn’t believe it only has 18 plays on Xbox. Is this your first publish? I especially loved the undulations and land movement combined with how the holes played. Very, very fun! Keep up the good work 👍🏻!

Agree this is an excellently designed course! I was born and bred on Te Waipounamu and the vibe of this course rings very true, great representation of time and place.
Pleased to see the course has 5 tee sets with a wide range of lengths, opens up lots of options for tournament set ups!

Really good set of green complexes you have here, solid planting scheme for the most part and a lot of things are done really well. A few thoughts for you to consider for your next course:
- green speed of 143 is quite slow. I would either set green speeds in the 150s or 170s given that moderate is 144 and fast is 163. - most of the bunkers have virtually no sculpting but then some are sunken down sharply in the middle. - not sure the large band of light rough is needed here with the width of these fairways - the first 4-5 holes are really solid but then I kept running into what I think was unintentional blind shots off the tee and/or from approach shots on the back nine. - could we have used the coastline a bit more? When I looked around from the first hole, I didn’t see any other hole using the coastline (obviously they do later on but there’s a lot of great land right by the clubhouse not being used). - make sure to clean up autogen plants and grasses that creep into your light rough areas. - when you’ve finished a hole, go back around with the soft flatten fuzzy brush (top left page 4) and smooth some edges out. The depression left of 18 green in particular looks more like a sink hole than a run off.
All in all, you’ve got good bones here and I look forward to seeing your next course.

Big Thank you to all who have played and commented on the course. This is my third layout in 2K21 and I feel I am improving with each course but am always open to constructive feedback. rhin04life and taff1980 most likely will be streaming this match I managed to watch from the 3rd hole through to the end on the Twitch. Some very good golf played. Two close matches with plenty of agricultural language Posted by mctrees026 hours ago Really good set of green complexes you have here, solid planting scheme for the most part and a lot of things are done really well. All in all, you’ve got good bones here and I look forward to seeing your next course. I try to keep green speeds appropriate to the contours on the green but will definitely playtest my next course at mid-150's. I like to give the golfer an opportunity to get close to the pin by using the ground game, especially if they should find themselves in a less than optimum position for the approach shot. The only 'bunkers' per se are the 'pot' style or centreline bunkers - all the other sand was an attempt at creating sand waste / dune type hazards that possibly wouldn't be so sculpted. There are a handful of occasions where I have tried to sculpt a finger of sand that reaches into the fairway from a dune as a bunker. Something to work on.
Agree about the large band of semi-rough. In all honesty I was trying to be fairer to those who, due to the undulating nature of the fairways might find a wayward bounce into the rough. I have since looked at a lighter texture that isn't quite so jarring and will consider this next time.
When I design, I like to create the plot and then route the course as well as the land would realistically allow. I try to keep major grading >4m to an absolute minimum and where this is used, do so in small areas, such as tees and greens. I know that this is a constraint I don't need to put on myself but for me the fun of the 'puzzle' of design is working out the best use of the available land and using it in as realistic a way as possible. This can sometimes lead to the odd semi-blind landing area or green.
My intention is to use the remaining land on the plot for another layout which will make use of the coastline you mention, and more.... I am just trying to work out a style that isn't exactly the same as the one I've used on Koa Rangi.
Auto-gen - yep..... noted :-)
The run-off to the left of 18 is about 2m in depth and was an intentional design choice. As the 18th plays longer being uphill and can only really be reached in two with a favourable wind, I wanted to challenge those who did take it on and ensure they weren't able to with impunity. If they find the green, excellent and the reward is an opportunity for an eagle. Slightly offline and they still have two shots to get a birdie. I did consider a bunker in its place, but for many good players that offers less of a penalty than a closely mown hollow.
Thanks again!
Neil.

Course was well received by everyone who played last night. This track offered alot of drama last night for sure as both matches went down to the wire and most likely were decided by the decisions we had to make given the circumstances you provided. If you happen to catch the streams live or watch later you will hear pretty much everyone say something about the pin on 8 or 9 (I think) as we had 4 or 5 really good shots not hold the green. While none of the shots held, I did ramp up the green speeds to 163 as opposed to the 143 they were designed at. While unlikely, its difficult to say if this made any difference. By appearance there really is not anything wrong with the pin location....its just one of those things and I am sure there is a shot out there that would hold. Great job and thanks for providing a course that was alot of fun to play.

Just played Wealdon Heath and this course, liked this course more, but both are excellent tracks. Hopefully this course gets a tour spot soon, it would be well deserved.
