Would love some feedback on the course! As a new designer I know I have a lot to learn. Also, feedback on my post presenting my course is welcome. Too many pics? Not enough? Did the post make you want to play it? Happy I found this community!

Your post presentation was excellent, it grabbed my attention and with so many new courses every week, you need to to make people take notice. As for the course itself, it was a bit of a mixed bag for me, when it was good, it was very good but for me there were some holes that just did not work, for example there were a couple of holes that had a very limited landing area, laying up was not a real option as the second shot was over a large body of water, in high winds, it might not be possible to get across, especially if the fairway was missed and the fairways were easy to miss. Some of the fairways were a bit to narrow. I also think the par threes were all to similar, all around the same distance. On the positive side, I think you have a very good grasp of the designer tools, the bunkers were excellent, there were no issues with the greens and the holes that were more traditional were very well done. It has been a few hours since I played and my memory is not what it was but I think it was hole 13 that would be right at home in any tour course. Anyway, I can see you got the skills with the designer, it’s just a matter of refining them and learning as you go along. Thanks for sharing your course and I look forward to seeing more of your designs in the future.

As a new designer you’ve got some really good things figured out in the designer already. Some thoughts for your next course: - really low lighting can provide beautiful pics and some gorgeous views...but it can also create playability issues if great care is not taken on every hole. The two biggest weaknesses of it for me are 1) it makes certain shots look blind when hitting from the sun into shade and now I can’t see my target and 2) it puts a lot of big shadows on the greens that are distracting when putting if there’s even a 6mph wind. Ideally you want greens to be in full sun first, full shade second and then partial shade last. The 9th green in particular is really tough to putt on with giant tree/plant shadows going everywhere on the green. - unintentional blindness. There were quite a few tee shots or approaches that were blind and I don’t think they were supposed to be. While we can work around them in the game with aiming markers and scout cameras, a lot of unintentional blind shots into areas with hazards isn’t very fun to play. - bunker shapes and surface surrounds. Most of your bunkers had good sculpting but it was a lot of stock circular shapes combined with amoebas stacked on each other. Also, there were some bunkers against fairway, some with light rough all around, and some with light rough on one side and heavy rough on the other. You want to provide a consistent theme to bunker edges. Also, on bunkers in flatter areas, try to find a high side and low side to the bunker so it makes sense there instead of looking like somebody decided to pour down a few tons of sand in that spot and smooth it out. - some of the fairways are quite narrow. 35-50y is a good guide for width on most holes. - instead of using 90* doglegs, try the hole at a 45-60* dogleg that offers an advantage if I cut the corner but gives me more fairway if I want to play it as more of a 90* curve. I think it was 7 that was a dog leg right where nobody is ever going to play it as 90* so there’s a lot of dead hole over there. - my personal preference would be to not have golf cart and/or clubs sitting around the tee boxes as it looks out of place in the game. The one on 10 in particular is almost in play if the wind is blowing hard enough that I need to aim really close to the cart. Also, a lot of your boulders worked but the ones left of 9 fairway looked very out of place. Overall you’ve done a good job for a first design and have a good enough grasp of the designer to progress with your future designs. I would suggest looking into mattf27 Joy of Planting streams on twitch/YouTube because he does an excellent job building bunkers and checking sightlines for blindness.

I am pretty sure that i will give this course a go tomorrow with some friend, thanks for sharing! GREAT! Give it an honesting rating for me. Love all the feedback. Next course will be twice as good👍🏻 I will try to give you some honest feedback with my stupid english. xD I am already on a round with my friends and some things i notice. -Some fairways are really narrow, they could be a bit bigger (i would say 35-45yds is fine). But sure, you can create some smaller spots that forced the player on some shots. -Some bunkers are to flat (especially the curved crazy bunker), they need a bit more depth, but you also have a lot bunkers they are really good shaped, i think you would try out a bit, right? -Also you have a couple "blind tee shots", i cant see the fairway or the hazards from the tee, try to take allways a look from the tee and how the hole looks from there, make it like you can see all of the fairway (close to all, the spots where you want the ball from the tee, if you know what i mean?! xD ). Just flatten some areas in front of the tee, bring th eteebox up or whatever. -The planting is okay, but a lot areas are pretty empty, there you can much more what will give you a better feeling for the course. -I like the lightning, i am a fan of stuff like that. xD -Maybe u can add also some shorter Par 4`s, something about 330-390yds, also your Par 3 holes are close to the same in lengh, some Par 3`s over 200yds could be also give the player more variety. -And because you asked for, your presentation is fine, you have not to much pictures, dont worry about that! xD Overall its not a bad course, especially not for your first! Me and my friends to play it and there was nothing unplayable, keep it going buddy!
