Time to dip into contest courses! First up is The Avalon Club by mvpmanateeApologies to jft.. I missed his wind recommendation when scheduling. This course has generous fairways for the most part. The approach shots could look a bit intimidating with the slopes around the hole.. but the area around the pins are fairly benign. Things are a bit soft to start, but firm up towards the end. Up a tee in the final round to really promote scoring.. should be your chance to make up a lot of ground if you need it. Good luck and play well!

I really liked this course this week. Some very interesting holes but also fair and very playable. Hitting fairways are a must but as mentioned above they are pretty generous.

I really liked the course too.
My putter let me down in such a big way out there. My score is still solid but my ball striking was amazing and just lipped out or barely missed at least 10 birdie and eagle putts. 4th round on 18 I left myself with a possible 8 foot eagle putt and ended up walking away with a par ð. Brutal but had fun with my rounds like I always do.

Sat out last week. Not playing much golf due to my addiction to Destiny 2. But since the season (there is a new season every 3 months with new content) in D2 is winding down for me I'll be migrating back to more golf. Will most likely play this one since the Johnny Drama Quest for Victory is the only TGCTours tournament I've ever won...way way back in 2016. No I don't expect to win this one lol, I'll be lucky to make the cut.
Good luck everyone

catcherman22 no worries on the wind... I kind of gave up on the set wind idea when I realized I was getting lazy of going around telling everybody what wind to play it on. I have watched at least 100 rounds on stream over the last 6 weeks and it plays fine on all wind. Interesting idea to move the tees up in the final round! I wouldn't have thought of that. I hope everyone enjoys the course. Here is the thread of the course if anybody wants a better hole-by-hole analysis or to post any comments/feedback, I appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, that I can get. In a way this has been my dream within the TGC Tours world, to host a tournament on a course that I entirely created, and after 2.5 years of being here, it finally is happening. I will be sticking around the forums extra this week to see what is going on. It is unfortunate that I got moved up to Kinetic just 2 weeks before the event starts! Good luck!

Congrats on having your course chosen and I'm stepping aside this week doing the weekly preview notes - I had seen the thread you created and it's really fantastic with individual hole analysis plus individual hole layout pics. No way I can add to that. The course looks great and plays great - I only got in one practice round. You mention that the greens may be the trickiest aspect to handle - we've been at Georgia Match Club and Chicago Golf Club, clubs that had challenging greens so we're more prepared for them at your course. We had been playing some courses with a lot of straight holes and this one has several doglegs and several straight holes that require a draw or fade as an optimal approach since there are a lot of bunkers fronting greens. It's a good time for me to work on my iron shot shaping. Oh I will add one thing not mentioned, the little town you created outside of the course is a joy as well. If I get stressed as I'm playing I'll pan around some and view the quiet relaxing neighborhood. I hope people get a chance to look around the plot. Hope everyone has a fun tourney and have a healthy happy new year!

And I am very glad you noticed the town, I worked quite hard on it! haha

Man I can't get a rhythm going here. E for the first round with five birdies, one double and four bogeys. It's been like that all through the week, can't seem to string 18 good holes together here. Props to JFT for a well designed course though. It's not your fault I suck at this game.

Very similar first round for me yesterday axelvonfersen. I had 6 birdies, 3 bogeys and 2 doubles. Need to get better with the putter. I had multiple three putts. I think I 4 putted hole #6 for a double bogey. Excellent golf course mvpmanatee. Congratulations on finally getting one of your designs on tour! Very deserving of tour worthy. Plenty of strategy is required throughout the course. Plenty of birdies to be made as well as bogeys. For me a notable highlight is the fairways. A lot of undulations which makes it funner to play and tougher at the same time. Well done sir!

Very inconsistent week for me. Too many bogeys and easy missed putts.
Putter finally caught fire in that latter rounds. 67 foot birdie and a 50 foot eagle in round 4.
Highlight of my week was my first tour ace of the season in round 2.
I'm up in B this week from C and not sure where -30 will put me, hope it's enough for a promo.
Good luck this week everyone.

I'm guessing me being in CC-G is right on the money. Was the first player outside the cut line in my first tourney, made the cut in my second, second player outside the line in my third and currently some 7-8 spots (but only one stroke!) above the cut line in this one.

This game is wild. make the cut in CC-J every week (no promo marks) except for 3 weeks ago. Don't make the cut same week as promo event, but do good enough to move up 3 flights. Then don't make the cut in CC-G on first go at it. Not this week I am tied 14th after two rounds. This is almost like my real golf game.
Also I love this course layout. Very unique

This is almost like my real golf game. Same, except I can break 90 without even trying in the game.

-2/-3/-6/-3 for a -14. Barely going to make the cut, but still going to end up in the middle of the field by the end of the 4th day. Seems I'm just going to be floating in this same area of limbo with no promotion/demotion marks.
