Just published my first course. TPC Harding Park (Tour) with 2020 PGA pins and tee placements. Never quite knew exactly how long it took to do any quality course let alone RCRs. Newfound appreciation for what all the designers to do in getting their courses just right. Learned a lot on this one. The hard way at times. But was never in a rush to get it done. Thanks to all the designers for their help/advice and everyone that gave their feedback on the beta. Along with all the resources available with the designing tutorials here on the forums. The 18-hole, par-72 Harding Park Course is situated on a gently rolling peninsula surrounded by the shores of Lake Merced in San Francisco. The championship layout hosted many prestigious golf tournaments such as the San Francisco Open and the Lucky International Professional Golf Championship. Most recently the Tour has returned to host the 2020 PGA Championship, which was won by Collin Morikawa. Previously held the 2005 World Golf Championships-American Express Championship, the Presidents Cup in October 2009, Charles Schwab Cup Championship in 2010, 2011 and 2013 and was Host of the 2015 WGC-Cadillac Match Play. The Harding Park golf course is lined with towering Monterey Cypress trees and borders Lake Merced. TPC Harding Park has contoured green complexes and four sets of tees will challenge every golfer from beginner to the most skilled player. TPC Harding Park also features a 9-hole course, the Fleming 9, which is over 2,100 yards. Default weather/lighting went with afternoon fog coming in off of Ocean Beach onto Lake Merced and the finishing holes at Harding Park. Living here in the Bay Area, it's like clockwork how the fog rolls in. For those that want the fog on the course, can change the time of day to Morning and would simulate an early morning tee time. In the end went with what felt right to achieve that. Green speeds are at 175. Tested the entire way at 187 and are playable for those that want quicker greens. Any feedback, opinions and constructive criticism is welcomed. Enjoy! ----- TPC Harding Park (L) has been published. The public course version with the 9th and 12th as par 5s and plays to a par 72. Updated tees and pins to reflect the course scorecard. 164 greens. Recommended winds - Medium, East/West. ----- Tour version is TGCTours approved - Tour Worthy. View from the Lake Merced Recreation Area 5th hole 16th green 18th

Was a big fan of the betas and the slight changes to lighting and textures put this over the top. Instant favorite. Great job.

Excellent job and certainly seems like a labor of love. I'm assuming you maxed out the object meter and filled the memory allocation since this is the first course I have played that has caused the game to crash (I play on PC).
edit: I was on hole 12 when it crashed. But was able to resume the round.

It’s just a fantastic felling when you’re standing on the 15th tee with Lake Merced on your left. It’s tough, it’s beautiful and it’s even a pleasure to make double bogeys.

Thanks guys! Glad to hear you are enjoying the course. Excellent job and certainly seems like a labor of love. I'm assuming you maxed out the object meter and filled the memory allocation since this is the first course I have played that has caused the game to crash (I play on PC). edit: I was on hole 12 when it crashed. But was able to resume the round. Definitely a labor of love. Lots of memories growing here. Lone Ranger birthday as a kid in that same Park area. Bay Area has changed a lot since then. Interesting. The closer I got to the finish wanted to make sure it played well on all platforms. Sent the final beta to a fellow designer on the OG Xbox to make sure it would run ok. Loaded and played fine first go around. Unfortunately crashed when playing another round straight away. From what I hear a problem when it comes to playing Lidar courses on that console. Final tallies on object meter were 88% and 84% memory.

Loaded and played fine first go around. Unfortunately crashed when playing another round straight away. From what I hear a problem when it comes to playing Lidar courses on that console. Final tallies on object meter were 88% and 84% memory. I've built a quite a few lidar courses and what I have noticed is when you use a lot of objects that are not native to the theme you are using, the memory allocation climbs dramatically and this causes the crashing problems, it isn't necessarily a 'lidar' specific thing. How you masked your plot can make a huge difference as well. Also, an object meter over 80% (when it gets into the red) will cause issues with framerates and load times (Old xbox seems to really struggle here) and regardless of what I see some people say about a "display bug" in the designer regarding object count, if you get the 100% warning, you need to cull some stuff, save, exit and reopen until you no longer get the warning when you first open the file. Anyway, since I play on PC I thought it was odd to finally have a course crash on me during a playthrough. Having said all that, the course is an amazing piece of art (and work). The partially open chain link gate was a nice detail. I love those moments-of-real-life call outs in these types of builds.

That's interesting because I'm on an older ps4 and I've had no problems in any of my playthroughs, the country club Brookline course was different story had lots of stuttering there

Just played a round at TPC Harding Park...excellent work. The combination of lighting, turf colors, and attention to detail made this one a fun playthrough. Someone could easily assume that this was an officially licensed course.
I am on PS4, and had no issues with framerate or crashing.
Looking forward to playing this again, and changing the time of day to Morning to see how that looks as well.
Great job!

If your on console always recommend playing a Lidar first course of the day, must be something to do with memory or something especially on the older Consoles. Thought the US open Lidar of Winged foot was excellent, Got to say i feel this course is at another level Lidar wise i think its the best one made so far,Just brings back everything from the PGA earlier in the year, The Lidar course of the year to me..(didn't think Birkdale Open could be beaten)....So good Thanks for the care and attention on this one and making it so playable just Stunning,
Lovely Eagle....
