Wow what a course, I hung on for so long scrambling for pars waiting for the dam to burst. Then late in the round the birdies flew.
The undulations and elevations were challenging as well as the tricky pins on significant slopes. (Well at least where I hit the ball). Really lovely sandbelt inspired course with fantastic planting and lighting.
I Eva Brauned the 4th and had a lucky lip in par. Horrible red fast off the 5th but managed to hold on for par. That even yellow pinned 7th I missed low. A red fast drive on 8 into the bunker set me up for my first unlikely birdie. Love the blind 11th and the torturous green. I hit a cracking 6m eagle putt on 12 that finished in the jaws. The split fairway on 13 was nice. The approach on 15 is spectacular and frightening at the same time. 16 is a great hole that I hit red slow and didn't get the thrill of hitting the green. 17 was a dangerous sloping drive that managed to miss the fairway bunker. My approach was not something they teach you, but worked! Lots of options for the drive on 18 and I took it down the left but rolled into the heavy rough which made the approach tough and scrambled for a par. All in all a great track and will be going around again!
