Talking Rock is now open! This is a course set in the mountains of North Georgia that has severe elevation changes (up to almost 200 feet), and lots of scenery. It is par-72, 7239 yards, a little shorter than my last bunch of courses. There are several par 4s under 400 yards, and believe it or not, the par-5 10th at 640 is reachable. There is some OB, but you need to hit a pretty awful shot to find it. Come for the golf, stay for the waterfalls, the views, and the cabin resort complete with boat docks and patio furniture. Technically, this was a tough course to build. The sheer number of rocks used made my hair hurt. I don't know how arcticfury does it. I filled up the object meter almost to 100%. Like Stableford Hills, I used only 2 brushes for all the bunkers. Lighting was a giant pain in the rump. With all the cliffs and mountains, some holes are completely in the shade. I wanted certain holes to be in the sun (like #10) so I was stuck with the sun where I really don't want it. The course plays best either at default lighting (with overcast is nice too) or default light. Dusk makes the entire course dark. Talking Rock was tested at 187 for greens and plays tough but fair at that speed. Enjoy!

Just played a round at Talking Rock.Good look off the first tee, a good sign. #2 Par 5 is a really nice hole with a possible shortcut with path assist? Anyway, I really like the layout here. Good mix of shots and the Par 5's are well done and not easy IMHO. # 6 has a tricky fairway, should have considered laying up there and probably # 8 as well. # 10 was a roller coaster ride as I drove over the bunkers, down the hill, through the fairway 384 Yards back into the rough! LOL. # 13 is a nice looking hole and I like the green placement there. I think #14 was my favorite hole, well framed hole with another crazy fairway. Cart path looks good snaking down to the right.
Overall, a really nice course. All the tee shots needed to be analyzed first and placement is the name of the game here. I thought you did a good job with the lighting. Enjoyed my round at Talking Rock..."I'll be back".

Absolutely love how you sculpted the bunkers in the first pic. What I mean is how the contours shape the heavy rough and highlight the undulation. Nice work!

Enjoyed my round here, felt quite a bit of PCC influence throughout the course. Some crazy undulations in the fairways, maybe a bit much in spots. Definitely had that mountain course feel. Well done sir.

If ChrizZcE likes it, Arctic Fury's separated twin brother from a completely different part of the world (probably), then I'm gonna play it tomorrow - looks great. Good luck in the world cup when designing begins...
