Hey Just seeing if there’s any tricks on cart paths. I’ve tried completely flattening the terrain underneath and different surfaces but can’t work out the trick. Sometimes my cart path has dead straight edges like a road, I think those came in with my OSM import. Any I generate with a spline in 2K21 has wavy edges like a fairway but I can’t find anyway to make it straight. I am adding a surface. Texture 1. Spline. Dead straight line. Path with wavy edges. Subtle but annoying because the imported splines create straight paths. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

i am pretty new as well but I think you might need to add more spline pts so the game isnt trying to draw the straight line for you i read 1yd gaps was good
not sure if this is your issue... but try that

The trick is to use enough spline points but not too many. Not enough will give you sharp corners where you don't want them. Too many will make it harder to get smooth edges. Also, if your path is too narrow (under 2.3 or so), it will be nearly impossible to smooth it out. Even at normal width, it takes hours of moving and "smoothing corner" to get a decent path.
One last thing. The length of the path also determines how difficult it is to smooth it. For example, if you draw a cart path from the 1st hole to the 4th hole, it'll be nearly impossible to get it to look right. On my courses, I never have a path longer than one par-3 hole. I split my par-4 and par-5 holes into at least two path segments.
It seems that splines might be even more difficult to work with in 2K21. I'm having lots of trouble with fairways and greens and jagged lines.

Thanks, really thanks a lot for these tips. I came here to learn playing Golf, but it seems to be a bit harder than I expected because everyone is a professional here. I am the only nub.

The new game has made it almost impossible to get the curves smooth in the way we could in 19. Settle for good enough here.

Might have to try and lay all the paths in 19 and see if that is the work around. Only working RCR so should have them in from the start anyway. Just got caught on this one because it is a path that runs under tree canopies. Thanks for the response!
