Pittsburgh Field Club PGA has been posted to 2K21. The original port was posted about a month ago, before I made some small tweaks for a revamped Tour version.
At 6786 yards, it doesn't pose the stern test of it's neighbor Oakmont, but will require all shots in bag. Greens are typically quite fast here, but slope is generally moderate. Speeds for the PGA version are 8.5 and there's only 1 (Championship) tee option. Bleachers have been added in some locations and are not overbearing, as the course has many natural amphitheaters around its greens. I have added fringe to all of the greens (even though they don't exist in real life) on this particular version to avoid run off's into the rough. I've also added some more planting, including Shady Side Academy which resides beyond the 13th green. The signature elevator on the 17th hole has been reconstructed and it's much closer to scale to the real life counterpart..
Chartered in 1882, Pittsburgh Field Club is one of the oldest sporting clubs in the United States. Golf was added in 1905. Due to urban sprawl, the club relocated to the Fox Chapel area, about 8 miles from downtown Pittsburgh in 1915. Many designers have had their hand in the layout at PFC. Alexander Findlay, Willie Park Jr, Donald Ross, A.W Tillinghast have all contributed to the Field Club that was recently renovated by Keith Foster. Among other events, The Field Club has hosted the 1937 PGA Championship, multiple Western Opens and co-hosted the 2003 US Amateur. Known for its 120 ft elevation drop from the 1st tee, PFC is set in moderately sloped landscape. The track has a great variety of holes. 3 Par 5's are reachable and there are some great short par 4's. Success on the Par 3's, specifically 6, 16 and 18 will be the key to good scores during your round.
Enjoy your round!

I'd like to see Diamond Run, Longue Vue or South Pointe done in PGA Tour 2K21. So many other great courses. Olde Stonewall would look great, too.

Hopefully someone carries the torch for Pittsburgh re-creations.. I have a half finished Chicago Golf Club that I've been working on since TGC2. After that's over, I'm hanging it up. PS4 makes it too difficult to recreate tracks without LiDAR data or map tracing.

My brothers both live near Chicago Golf Club. I love that old clubhouse there. I'm looking forward to your work.

Newest version has been published. Small revisions and fescue planting gives this layout a fresh look. Published as "Pittsburgh Field Club 2K"
Finally feel good about fescue planting technique that provides good depth of field without burying trees.
Fox Chapel Golf Club with added fescue is coming next. I hope to have it completed in a week or so.

The PGA version only had a few small stands from memory. It wasn't a big tournament upgrade was it? After your update of Chicago GC can't wait to check Pittsburgh out and then Fox Chapel. Cheers

I added 2 sets of tees to the the PGA version. All grandstands are gone, but crowds are available if you prefer it that way.
I had made a decent amount of changes for "PGA", and then some more for "2K". It never ends...

I had made a decent amount of changes for "PGA", and then some more for "2K". It never ends... Keep it clean and natural! No stands or crowds required for this course IMO. It's a great members track and the added fescue will add some real character. So the Pittsburgh PGA version did have some general course improvements over and above the original release?

Yes. The original version was a port from TGC 2019. I made a few tweaks before publishing, but there were a couple pins that should have been checked over. I probably rushed it a little too quickly.
"PGA" picked up some new external planting and a rebuilt elevator. A few greens had to be adjusted in some spots because of the difference in the 2 games. I used a 1 tee option and grandstands as the excuse for putting out another version.
Both PFC and Fox Chapel had fescue areas on all of the previous games. I eliminated them because of how poorly those areas rendered on 2K. After I found a grass planting solution for CGC, I decided I would go back and finalize these 2 (and fix some other issues as well).
I hate having so many versions of the same courses published. I'd like to say that there will only be one version of all 3 of them for the next 2K release.

It's a shame HB don't have a facility to delete courses and that deletion can only be performed by the original designer. Perhaps there are some issues with this idea but it would make for a cleaner database and server.

It has to do with their fine stat tracking. The ability to hide a course would be best. That's the equivalent of how they make all of the Augusta's disappear. That can be done, just need to create the function for the designer of the course.

I'm lucky to have played this course IRL once, and while I am no expert on it, this is excellent. Brings back memories. The elevator is wild, as is the tee shot on #1, but you nailed them. Fun course to play.
Pretty sure Mark Recchi lives or lived along #12 for you hockey people.
I think I am a Fox Chapel guy over the Field Club (since they are neighbors) but love them both.
