Frome Golf Club (Critchill) was an 18 hole, par 69 golf club with a floodlit driving range. The course measured 5527 Yards from the White tees and 5001 Yards From the red tees. I've also added Gold tees as well. An ex dairy farm which opened in 1992 originally as a 9 hole course, soon expanded to 18 holes soon after, and had further plans to expand to 27 holes having been owned by the original farming family, the Austins', located in Somerset, England. Although it was a short golf course in todays terms, it was by no means easy, with the small undulating greens and many Out of bounds lined holes required straight and accurate shots, making it a challenge for all levels of golfer. Unfortunately after the owners decided to retire no buyer could be found to take on the running of the Golf course and It closed in September 2015. I've lost count of the amount of time I've put into this recreation, as I was a member there and used to work in the Pro Shop and on the green keeping team before it closed, so it's something I wanted to be as accurate as possible. A massive thank you to: Thank you to Chadgolf for his help and advice in how to use his tool, and running my lidar data before I had a PC capable of doing it to check it, also special thanks to Also Thank you to Yeltzman for his advice last year in the early stages of this RCR, as I was a total novice and this is my first RCR. I hope you all enjoy playing it, I've included a few screenshots below of the course and surroundings. To play on TGC 2019 search for Frome then select Frome GC Lidar To play on PGA Tour 2k21, please search Frome and select Frome GC Lidar TGC 2019 A fully updated version with more life like trees will follow in due course. Love the dedication you put into this one all round the course and off it,which just makes a Lidar course even better,Shame it was not finished before i got to 2k21 because i was using my 2k21 putting stroke with the slow greens, was not a match made in heaven especially on the 1st.Great work to save a course no longer there. Amazing really what has changed between games, some very good some not so good.

Thank you for your kind comments, having worked and played there really wanted to do it justice, hence why it's taken me so long.
Luckily I had so many photos to help do it justice. I even contacted the old greenkeeper for traditional club championship pin positions For Saturday & Sunday (pinset 3 & 4)
Nice recovery after the firstbto be fair.
I haven't played too much 2k21 yet, it's so hard.
Due to the severity of slopes on some greens, I tested and tested, and this was the quickest I could get the greens without some bring totally unplayable from all angles.
If on some holes you can't hold the green, or chip it off the green, well that's what it was like in real life, it was tough if you short sided yourself, you really had to miss in the right spot.
Was a great track though, and so pleased been able to save it after being shut for almost 5 years now. Plenty of old members have started to play it, and seem to be enjoying it.
I do plan on doing a updated version, pretty much re doing every tree in the game now I can choose so many life-like option now.
But I've load it 2k21 designer now as it is, and everything looked OK, so I may just publish this version in the new game,
as having spent so many hours getting to this point, I need a little break before updating the planting for the 2k21 updated version

Strange this course was refused Status on TGC tours due to its length,Something like this might play very good TST style with Masters etc in 2k21,i wonder if the policy on length of course might need to be changed for 2k21.

Yeh I didn't realise there was a length requirement, as its my first RCR. So I'm not sure if they actually played it or not, although there was some screenshots added to the thx course before it was rejected The greens are what made Frome GC a challenge, small and undulating, very rare to you get a flat putt, and certain holes you needed course knowledge to know where / where not to miss it. Out of bounds lined holes with the toughness of legend difficulty, would be very interesting. This course proved you didn't have to have length to be a tough challenge. I have asked for further feedback, I have even looked at adding some length where possible but I can only get it up to 5800 at a push. It's s shame as I think it would be a enjoyable challenge to have a tournament on. Also pinset 3 and pinset 4 are the traditional club championship pins after I got in contact with the old head greenkeeper and he did a pin sheet for me. I still haven't cracked 2k21 really, only just made it through q school
