Hi folks When I select "move" for say a bush or tree, it seems much slower than 2019, yet is doesn't seem slower when selecting a laid down bunker. There is maybe a second delay between clicking move and it registering. Anybody else experienced that or is it just my PC. Not a big deal I know, just interested. The time saved laying heavy rough will out weigh this a thousand times I know! I have to say, courses look so much better now. I've watched the previews on YouTube but actually seeing it for myself on the monitor is so much different. So much eye candy ... can't wait to see what you top designers come up with Cheers Greg

Same on Xbox. Scrolling through objects is a chore. I love that we can have any tree we want, but getting to page 20 takes forever.

It is quite painful to scroll through objects on PS4. I am hoping this can be fixed somehow

Figured I'd throw this in here: Do not change themes after starting a track. It slows everything down to a crawl, at least on Xbox. I re-started the course and now it's fine after a mild panic attack trying to figure out why it was so slow at 0% planted.
Menu's are still a pain.
Edit: I should add I changed it multiple times to see how they looked, which may have contributed.

I broke down and bought the game on steam this morning. I have a decent but not great rig and the designer runs so much faster now. It was the same way for 2019

What are the specs of your pc? I'll have to upgrade from my laptop I think. Edit: i'm really just looking for a modest, cost effective computer that will handle the designer.

My rig is a slight variation of this one. 16gb ram, Ryzen 5, 4gb Raedon GPU - nothing earth-shattering for sure, but runs the game fine at "high" graphics settings.

This got me thinking, both time I have been in the designer its been from courses I imported from TGC19. Maybe that slows it down as well?

Same on Xbox. Scrolling through objects is a chore. I love that we can have any tree we want, but getting to page 20 takes forever. There is an option for "show placed objects." If you have 5 trees you are using for example, when in the trees page, hit Y once for show theme items, and hit Y again for show placed items. Creates 2 pages of trees for me instead of 33. Works for any type of object. Derek

That is excellent. I haven't messed around in the designer as much as I would like so far.

The show placed objects is a great feature. One of the problems with all the new trees is of course the fact that if you want to find a tree on page 15 it is a bit of a crawl to get there (right shoulder button helps).
I do love all the new stuff in the "add objects" menus, but going through them is slowed down considerably because the game has to draw each one you move to on the page instead of waiting until you select the one you want. It is a bit of a PITA.

I noticed an interesting thing as I was messing with my Lidar courses readying them for the new game. I did not use the "Port over from TGC2019" feature, but instead put the 2019 courses into the 2K21 course folder, where they open just fine. When I first opened up a course in the designer (Greenbrier in this case) the object meter showed something like 83%, and stayed there as I worked with the course until I placed a new object. After placing the object, the object meter dropped to 39.9%! I guess the designer is somehow reorganizing the 2019 file to minimize object space.

I'm crawling between object menus and I started a brand new course on PS4. It's almost unbearable to use. I love the new options, but I feel like even things like smoothing splines and changing the length of second surface is taking 3X as long as TGC19.

Designing on PC is a million miles away from PS4. I have a powerful system but it was geared to music production, the gfx card was useless. I would say a medium spec system but with a good gfx card is the way to go. I bought a new gfx card, not top of the line by any means but it runs the designer and game with 90% settings on ultra no problem. My PC is nearly 10 years old but with the new card itβs like new born lamb again π
