I decided after basically finishing my Lidar version of The Trophy Club that I was not going to do anymore real design work until the new game dropped. I got a little bored though and decided to work on a course which is very familiar to me since I was a member for several years, but has no Lidar available. I do not really want to put the effort into making an RCR like ezzinomilonga is doing with Nine Bridges, so I thought I would download the OSM tracing to a flat plot and try to design some terrain that fits around the course; basically the opposite of what a real architect would do. It is just a little experiment so if it doesn't work out NBD. I am looking for suggestions on one aspect of the course. It has large waste areas of coquina in place of sand (there are plenty of sand traps as well). For those of you unfamiliar with coquina, it is ground up from rocks formed from millions of years of prehistoric sea shells. In this form it is more like hard gravel than sand, and is easier to play long shots from. I wonder if any of you have any suggestions as to what texture I could use for these areas. I thought of mulch, but it plays tougher than sand in the game. If nobody has any good ideas I will probably just use sand, but that will not be as authentic as I would like.

I returned back to home exactly an hour ago. And before to restart to work on "my" course, i was curious about your last work. If you still need some eye on it before to publish it, i would be more than happy to play it. (i'll play it in every case, soon or later, your works are always spot on and absolutely enjoyable, then...) About your next work and the advice you need about that surface, i know i have not enough experience about design to offer good advices on this thing..in the best case i can see what you try and tell you if it works..and no so much more than this. But i'm sure some other guy will be a lot more helpful and competent than me

I have gotten feedback from only Yeltzman and I could use a little more. I think nobody bothered because it is not a well known or Tour course and I understand that. I hope everything is well with your family (that is why you were gone wasn't it)?

The Necedah bunker technique will get you that rougher gravel look, however it will still be a sand/bunker surface for playability. Maybe see what happens if you jack up the bunker settings so the ball doesn't plug. The only other thing that came to mind was using cart path but I can't see that going well as the ball will roll forever on it..

I hope everything is well with your family (that is why you were gone wasn't it)? I'm going to play it! Everything is fine with my daughter and her mom. I was there to stay just some day..then a chance to work and live in Palermo by the end of August jumped out for me from nowhere, after i talked with a friend...and then i spent the rest of time trying to convince my ex to leave the place in which she lives to follow me to Palermo. She is very sad and unhappy where she lives now..is a beautifyl woman and an artist (a paintress, a tattoo artist, she have really the hands made of gold) but she lives in a place in which all her gifts are just wasted. She is very depressed and sometimes i'm scared cause it seems she's waiting simply the death (or a prince with a horse going to safe her..something that, in the real life, unfortunally it never happens) and the idea to stay there..all alone..while me and my daughter would be in Palermo, because next year my daughter will start the college in that city..just would be too much for her. Furthermore, Palermo is the place we consider as "our home". I knew she would love the idea to return there.. But she is full of fears and to change city, house, life, she needs someone to feel near enough to stay quiet. We are no more together by a dozen of years..but she is a good girl and she deserves to be happy..then i talked with her..then with her parents..and finally it seems we'll go together in Palermo at the end of August. I'll stay next to her for the first times..until she will need my presence..then i'll search another house for me and..well..that's the plan Me, personally, i'm really happy to come back to that city. Is a magic place. To be honest i would prefer to stay alone, but she just needs my help. And she deserves it. I really hope everything will be fine for her too. Oh..thanks for asking, anyway. I'll wrote again when i'll play your course
