Note: No idea if i will make this my primary focus because my mood changes very quickly and i could start hating what i am doing within minutes. I will try my best to not delete this even when i am tempted.
This happens to all of us to an extent. One minute you're really feeling it, the next you're not or vice versa. Best thing to do when you're not feeling it is just close the designer and wait until you feel ready to keep going with it.

Hi guys. One of these days i may actually design a course and needed to start a thread. I think i had one of these before but can't find it. I used Jeremy's way of randomising a plot and i think the land looks pretty good. Nothing too extreme. Theme: Autumn I actually don't know why i chose Autumn but here we are and i am using it. I don't expect to design anything great and i intend to not try things that may be extreme for me. I will probably start off with more simple hole ideas which may seem boring to others but it will probably be better for me to start that way. Note: No idea if i will make this my primary focus because my mood changes very quickly and i could start hating what i am doing within minutes. I will try my best to not delete this even when i am tempted.I can't tell you the number of courses I've deleted. I've published 2 and probably deleted at least 5 times that if not more.

This will be the last picture for tonight, i promise. Did this little bit of planting around the green but when it comes to planting in areas on the rest of hole, i am stuck. Well i say stuck but i mean i'm not sure what to plant. The area before the front green side bunker (shown in the image before this one) is rather large and is begging for something. I recommend not getting too hung up on planting for your first course. Focus on the golf and maybe just let the course generate some trees and fill it in from there. I'm nearly 10 courses in and am just now trying to put time into planting.

Try to focus more on the terrain than the eye candy. Might be hard for you at first but if the terrain is there, it's WAY easier to plant later on. Eye candy used wisely in conjunction with great terrain movement looks stunning, whereas eye candy on its own just looks like a bunch of eye candy on a golf course. Think of how Hole 11 on Necedah Pines looks from the player's tee shot perspective: There's no retaining walls, big waterfalls, showy elevation changes, but it's still very pleasing to look at.
Also, in terms of getting that green to looks better...you have this nice little ridge line in the terrain sitting at just above flag height, you may want to bring that closer in (or maybe raise it) and use that behind the green for framing.
Lastly, bunker shapes are hard at first! I still frequently redo a bunker shape at least 2-3 times to get something that 'looks right.' At first it felt like the absolute hardest thing about designing courses, and just understand that bunkers are a fickle beast. Much of the time I would literally just get one bunker shape I liked and call it for the design session when I was relatively new.
P.S. if you really want to get into design at some point, or even if you're just interested in golf course architecture strategically from a player's perspective, you owe it to yourself to read Anatomy of a Golf Course by Tom Doak.
