Loved this from start to finish. Par three 8th was quality and a huge fan of what you've done with letting the holes breathe and filling the environment without stupid amounts of planting. The greens were a real highlight for me - particularly 11 and 12 and the short fours made me very happy. Probably my favourite environment in the contest and some top drawer holes. Here's hoping this gets the love Ramparts deserved.
Group H continues strong!

Yep, this is a cracker. Beautiful and subtle environment. Loved the washed out ground look in and around the bunkers and path areas. Loved a little retaining wall around a tree area just away from the hole. Steps and wall in bunker not placed to stand out and be obvious, just there because they should be there. So many visual touches like that everywhere around. A lesson in restrained eye candy. Really nice routing as well. I had an eagle from 5ft on your final short par 4 and then an albatross on the par 5 two holes later!

Thank you for this course, loved the look. The short par fours are a standout not a given birdie on any of them. If I had to pick a favorite hole the par 4 fourth would be it, par on this hole is nothing to be ashamed of. GL in the contest

Thanks for all the positive feedback so far guys, appreciate you taking the time. Unfortunately I was just informed of this on hole 10 pin set 3... Looks like a pretty drastic mistake on my part, if indeed it was my fault. Will check it out later. What’re you gonna do? It’s been real, WCOD2020. ✌🏻

Ugh, hate to see that. Gutting after all that work. Don't beat yourself up about it, plenty of illegal pins in design contest history.

AFTER FURTHER REVIEW.... I screwed up the pin. Still really happy with this course overall and I think it’s fun. It’s a shame I made the mistake. Inexcusable. Good luck to all the rest of the way. Hoping my H boys make some waves! We’re on to the Dream Team.

True class, as always. I usually recommend playtesting at least once before publishing, that really helped elevate my designs. No but for real, the tee shot on #4, the rock face bunker and spiral staircase on #5, the hole design and planting in the water on #7, the spine bisecting #8 green, bridge into retaining wall and tee shot strategy on #9, laughable green complex on #11, first of three par 5's not until #13, bridge over the road and planting on #14, redan-ish approach into the par 5 #16, the asymmetry of the clubhouse deck on #18, all highlights. I think #4 and #9 stood out the most for me. Can't wait to see how bad you botch this draft.

I can't wait to play, the planting looks phenomenal in the pics!
IMO, one illegal pin should not derail the whole thing. You don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I'd still rather the courses be judged as a whole, and yes, there may be a deduction for something like that (I don't know how this judging is working), but it shouldn't be a "you lose the DAM contest" type of deduction.
Just my two cents.

Got my afternoon tee time in and really enjoyed my round. My personal favorite of your catalogue now, overtaking The Dunes at Lake Marie, which holds up very well. 5-star and a favorite on this one though! The planting, particularly in the water and low areas is fantastic. Great job!

Pax McConnell, the third child milking away the success of Marie’s Dunes. Hate/Love to see it. Glad you enjoyed it!
