Saxondale is inspired by the British heathland courses (especially Sunningdale and St. George's Hill; I did my best to create a summer look with the heather in bloom). However, I put a spin on that basic idea by incorporating bold shapes and contours in both the greens and the course itself. This was largely inspired by a round at the Mike Strantz-designed Tobacco Road Golf Club this past summer. Despite looking fairly intimidating in places, there are plenty of birdies to be made out there, but find yourself in the wrong place on the greens and you'll be scrambling. Love this course. The way the fairways are draped over the landscape is incredible and the heather is perfect.

Just a beautiful course. Well-designed greens that bring a lot of shot planning and strategy into the mix, all while being very fair. Hard line to tow and this course does it perfectly

The routing sculpting planting just top notch stuff here Dan
Loved the greens, shapes, sculpting etc... Just a load of fun to try and get it close

Loved the planting and the design. You are correct about the greens if you land on the wrong side of the pin you will be fighting to make the putt. Really enjoyed the round and will be coming back to try the other pins. GL in the contest  |

Played it a few times now and I think 16 is definitely my favorite hole. Congrats on another fun one, time to get back in the designer and step up.

Wow dude love what you did with the course and yes i landed wrong side of the pin for the most part, but enjoyed the fight. Great course dude looks awesome and plays well. Good luck and thanks for the great course.
