Bewm...
Welcome one and all to Fenyard Keep!
What is Fenyard Keep? Well it's the name of this Golf Course and it's also the name of the Castle you'll notice up on the cliff.
Oooo neat...what's the name mean? Not a dang thing! It's just a nifty name that sounds like a castle or something. Cool huh?
So...no creative backstory then? Good gravy man what do I look like? Some little golf course lore master elf? Go play golf ya jerk!
Geez, no need to be so testy! Hey...sorry...it's just that I made a golf course so you could...you know...play golf on it. If you want a backstory consider this an "RP" server and Larp yourself to death if ya like.
Oh, ok. No worries. Just curious. Good to hear. now...about the golf...
Oh yeah golf! Are there blind shots? Only four thousand percent!
That seems excessive...should I just wear sunglasses and use my orange whip to find my way then or what? Ha ha. Hey! We gotta regular Rodney Dangerfield ovah here!!
Well then you just tell me about it ok? Sheesh. Can do...
Fenyard Keep will make you a little crazy. It's very similar to my other designs in that you will ALWAYS feel that you left something out there you need to do better. The rolls and bumps are all part of the ground and part of the fun...but if you don't watch where you're hitting the ball you'll end up in trouble a lot. There are bailouts and safe routes all over but they will not reward you with a great score. Sack up and make the shot you need to make. The greens here are a bit odd in that you'll end up with a lot of double breaking (or more) putts that look terrible but really aren't that bad. You'll make more mid to long putts than short putts...which also seems odd but that's kind of how the course plays from what I can tell.
The course goes out along the dunes, hits a little bay, turns back in to the clubhouse, plays number 9 on an little island...then wraps around the far side of the big island and along some rocky formations. You'll see some other golf holes here and there you can't play...those may come at some point in the future but for now it's just for show I guess. (atmosphere and all that jazz)
I just hope you guys have as much fun playing as I have had in testing it over and over and over and over and over and over...
Leave a note. If you get flustered...give it another try and make a safer shot and see how that works out. Don't always go for everything ok?
oh...here are some pics since that's the thing right? ;-)
