There are swing manipulators of all types out there, not just flickers. There are some here who do very well with a banana swing but the problem is it's pretty much always the same swing yet they come on here yapping about how they lipped out here, bad bounce there and still shoot 60 under. They are the ones who piss me off. You know who you are.

I will tell you the flick swing isn’t confined to PS4 I’ve seen people streaming on Xbox using it.

I'm all over the place with my shots so I'm just trying to understand.

Some have flicked their way to glory for ages and are only being found out now. The whole things a mess..

Totally agree with you both. The advantage that people have is there to be seen. I said the other week the controllers for xbox and ps4 make a massive difference. If people score well on pc they are probably using a ps4 pad over the xbox due to the shorter movement of the stick back and forth. The short swing has ruined the tour and because it can be easily manipulated as people have stated before giving you a massive advantage with accuracy over others that swing full. When you look at the stats on tour on some of these courses and the players have had 18/19 putts in a round and the longest putt is 12ft. That advantage is massive. Swinging full like you know you have to play percentages to get close alot of the time cos if your even slightly off and get a squirt right or a slight pull left it is magnified whereas if you flick it wont go left. Squirt is minimal and even chipping doesnt squirt. When i chip i always have to move it left to allow for the squirt. Sometimes it can be a box others i allow and it goes straight. Just like real golf there is an air of uncertainty. With the manipulated swing it is less so. The only way to get it more on an even keel would be make everyone use pro clubs. It evens the tempo thing out cross platform and you'd be putting all tours on the same level. But it'll never happen Id love to see a test event set as an additional one week with no money at stake and make it open to everyone but pro clubs only. Just to see what the scoring was like and the stats from it all because i reckon it would be a lot more bunched up across the board. Also i believe that the other platforms would get a fairer crack too. Just an idea! No ranking points no cash just a test to see whether or not it makes any difference. More strategic too cos there wont be none of this full loft driver to short par four to inside 10ft that we see so regularly. I think we all just want the tour as fair as possible and at the minute you know there are certain holes you just cant attack with a full swing but you can with the short swing. Cannot be said better, except we can never go to pro clubs only. Sorry I cannot endorse that, rather I’d much prefer either more minor events or a flicker only tour. The fun and motivation of TGCT is the chance to move up. Promotion possibilities motivate players because there’s always a next level to conquer. It fuels practice and focus. Once you reach the PGA, that’s the big show kid and nothing further. And once you realize you need flawless 72 holes to think about contending, it’s tough to stay motivated. On lower tours, you know the other players haven’t reached the pinnacle so it seems more gettable, hence your blood boils with every shot. If you’re 50-150 on PGA, it’s a no mans land. No chance at contending (you’re playing a different game). No chance at moving up (you’ve reached the pinnacle). If the admins have no desire to drain the flick swamp, then I propose more minor events for us mediums to play in a limited field of our peers for the chance at more points/cash. If we aren’t going to follow the real world 100%, then let’s at least give more guys a realistic chance to contend.*** *** All this assuming we aren’t separating flickers in their own tour, which is 100% my first choice.

I agree with much of this Mike, but a flickers only tour is a total impossibility. It can’t happen. How do you qualify for it? If it was so easy to categorise a flicker, there might already be different rules in place. Flickers, or not, there’s always been the gap between the cream and the body of the milk. That motivation hurdle is a thing whether they’re there or not - it’s not something that personally bothers me greatly, but we’re all different. My motivation is mainly sapped by the crazy course setups that we’ve been over a million times before, where pinpoint accuracy and perfect loft manipulation is essential. I’d happily take part in a pro clubs experiment to see how it pans out. In fact I might start one up on PS4 with RCRs for a month or something. Would be a better experiment to do it cross platform obviously, and it’d rely on honesty from the competitors to stick to pro clubs. No idea when the next game comes, but I think the only way to fix this mess at present is to go Pro.

Bang on fadge. There is no way to police the short swing. And there are people who get a mix of full swings and short swings. Its the same length short swingers that spoil it. Or the multi talented people that swing at 8-2 and get short swing every shot.
I love the challenge of masters clubs. Like weve all said before its a different game when you loft it and some times it squirts or pulls more depending on the swing you put on it. Less room for error
Hb are gonna have to do a complete swing overhaul for ps5. Especially with the fully customisable ds5 where you can alter sensitivity of sticks along with lots of other features.
Let me know if you set one up fadge for pro clubs

It was virtually 50/50 across all membership answers.

But I think going to pro clubs is a knee jerk reaction solution that is good intentioned on the surface but good intentions don't always lead to what's best in the long term. The big picture needs to be kept in mind and I think that's what Doyley and co. are going to continue to do.

Oh, ohheyheymymy, unique course. We need more creativity like this in the game. I struck it well just made no putts in the first two rounds. It evened out back my way the last two though. Hopefully can ride the momentum into tomorrow morning on PGA.
