Round 1 in archive. -8. I'm simply disgusted. Two bogeys..and again for two random super fast that ruined my round..as if it would be needed, considering that I can ruin my round quite well by myself Anyway..problems are always the same. Too many putt missed for deviation in the swing, short game awful. I just need to continue to play and to learn. The interesting thing of this week (and also the reason why I don't played yesterday as I planned) is that yesterday I was checking the game for some new real course. I decided to go in the new courses section..and to check all the courses released in the last two weeks. I checked 165 pages and I found almost 50 new courses that have the correct scorecard of the real courses that should be recreated and that looks good enough to be considered. Obviously this means not so much, I need anyway to check them before to add'em to the list (there're already too many courses in that list I still don't know if they're good RCRs or not..is silly to add other courses not verified), but I'm optimistic cause a good number of them are lidar..or made by designers that generally works quite well. I also found the RCRs of the 3 courses at "L'Olgiata", a golf club near Rome pretty famous. It would be great to have finally an Italian real course.. So..considering this, my actual limits with master clubs and the fact that to practice is now much more important than to compete..i decide to leave practice rounds for the tournament and to play it just for training..and to stay more focused checking courses for the list and for rangering. If I'm good enough, soon or later the time to play again having on mind the competition will back. Good luck as always, guys

If I'm good enough, soon or later the time to play again having on mind the competition will back. Good luck as always, guys Looks like you had a great back 9 going until 15. I ended up at -8 as well. I continue to have problems with slow downswings on approach shots to the greens. My putting so far with masters clubs has been decent, and my driving hasn't been too bad most of the time, but I'm killing myself with poor approaches. I avoided a demotion mark last week by one shot and if I keep this up, I'm going to get one this week. Oh well, I'm giving it my best shot. Just an update on Austin Country Club: after spending hours refining the lidar and OSM settings, I finally got a plot that I'm happy with. I've finished putting in the championship tee boxes and getting my yardages correct. There are a lot of rocks/rock formations throughout the course and that is going to be tedious and time consuming because I'm planning on planting them one at a time to really capture the unique look of this Pete Dye layout. I'm going to enjoy the challenge of making this course look as much like the real thing as possible. I'm definitely going to have to step up my game and use my experience from Colonial to get this right. I'm hoping to have a few early pics up this weekend. Anyway, good luck the rest of the tournament! I'm not expecting much from this point forward, because I know I'm going to end up getting consumed with this designing project and that means very little practice except for play-testing the course.

hoosierhoops24 I'll wait for some beta to play But after I played your Colonial, I already know it will be a great work. I must just wait. About the game..is really frustrating, I know it. Tonight, while I played my second round (-6, with 66% of GIR..probably my worst performance on Tour ever), I had a series of really straight swing, but only on tee shots. On approaches i suffered your same issue. My fault. But i also noticed something I haven't understand before : The ball has a slightly higher trajectory with master clubs than with pro clubs. This is the reason why the ball covers more distance and has more spin. And is also the reason why my count with the wind don't works in the same way than with pro clubs. I finally realized it playing a pair of holes with the wind straight against me. The ball flies some meter less. Is another new thing i need to deal with. Anyway..despite all these problems and the frustration, I'm still convinced that is the right way to follow. I knew that it would be hard..and it would be simply arrogant to suppose to be competitive after 10 days..i think we simply must to accept the idea to struggle for some week, playing just trying to avoid some red mark. The real issue is that I have not the time to practice properly..and with not time..also the patience and the energy needed to study as it would be needed is missing. For example, now i should really..REALLY..to spend some time practicing with flop and chips..i should start to use the loft/deloft on chips (something I always refused to do cause is totally unrealistic for me..but I must do it), cause the truth is that my short chips now are really killing my game. Before it was not a big issue, cause I missed very few greens, generally..but now I could save lot of situations, with these shots. But I have simply not the time/energy/desire to do it, in these days. Will see.

Abandoned Dunes
This week I shot 61,64,61,65 for a total of -37 for the tournament and my best score so far this season. Going by current scores I'm guessing I'll be between 60th and 70th place this week. I enjoyed the course this week, a nice links course with a good few risk/reward holes on it.

Round number 2 in the books and more of the same mediocre play. -8 in this round as well for a total of -16 so far. Probably won't finish the last 2 rounds until Saturday. Trying to avoid the dreaded red mark.

I'm in trouble, I fear. Is raining here..by yesterday. And it seems it will the same until Sunday. With thunders and I can't use internet. I started my third round yesterday but I must stopped after two holes..then again after nine. It will be a miracle if I can complete the tournament..and in any case, playing suddenly, without some practice for my swing before, is really probable that it will be in any case a disaster. Well..will see. Good week end guys.

Any luck with the weather and getting your last rounds finished?

For the second week in a row, it looks like I'm to avoid a demo mark by a singe shot!

In a pair of hours I'll finish and I'll be at home..technically I have the time to play..and I'll do, cause I don't want the 3 red marks..but honestly i don't think I can reach your score. I was -17 after 9 holes of the third round, before to be forced to shut off internet. I have also admit that i wish just to sleep. Definitely this was not my week But I used these two days without the chance to play, spending some time to enlarge the list of missing real courses, adding some European course. Probably I'll continue tomorrow. Anyway..no counting the weather issues, I played really, really bad. If I should collect some red mark, this time will be really well deserved.

Finished -43 in B Sitting at 3rd in Masters but feel fortunate cause a couple missed birdie putts and I would not be getting a promo as 3rd place and 11th is only seperated by two strokes!

For some reason I find that for me has been always easier to have better standings on tougher courses. Maybe cause I'm never been so good to score constantly around -10 or better, but I can score generally always around -7/-9, no matter the conditions, with maybe one round of better score. Or..at least, this was with pro clubs. Now with master clubs I have some issue (related mainly with my swing not straight enough, an issue that to be honest started weeks ago, at Geiranger more or less, before to make the switch), but what it drives my mad are those little issues that I can't understand and solve. Just to say..in these two weeks after the switch to master clubs, I suffered in total 9 random super slow or fast downswing. Is not an enormous number, at all, but 7 times on 9 it happened on tournament. Also, after the switch, in tournament I suffer also some lag while I swing. But it never happens in practice, even playing the same course. I don't know..is strange to see. Anyway..i'm at home. I'm going to finish the tournament

Well..-27 for the tournament. I'm too tired to be also pissed and to check my scores with attention, but I already know that I have break a pair of records, with this tournament. My first red mark ever. My first tournament with 5 bogeys and a double. Not bad.
In last round other two super slow downswings (5 in total for the tournament) and a really slight but constant lag that complicated everything and that i can't understand..and I don't know exactly why it happens, but I must admit that, if when I'll fix all the issues in my game this thing of the random superslow/fast should to continue, is a possibility that I'll simply quit. Is senseless to work trying to improve, spending hours of tries and study, working on my grab of the controller and all that annoying stuff like this, only to finally waste strokes almost on every round with not a reason.
Anyway..is too soon to show the white flag. I'll try to discover why it happens. I'm also partially happy cause it seems i found a way to solve the issues with the sliced putts (today it worked quite well, I scored also two putts really long..i see the way is the right one), grabbing the controller in a slight different way. Now I'll spend this week trying to avoid the slight slow and fast downswing I suffer sometimes (for my fault, is easy to see the difference) and that is the bigger problem I have, beside the constant kick to the left at the start of my swing I suffer by weeks.
As a final thought about the course, it was an easy one and there is nothing wrong with this, simply for me is one of those course that I think are just no good enough to be considered one of the best 52 possible courses we could use on tour. But is just a personal taste.
Now I go to sleep, if I can. It would be nice. π
