I was forced to quit the game tonight while I was playing my practice round. I was -6 after 9 hole, then internet started to act like an a$$hole. I'll restart/retry today. Honestly I'm not so sure that your -8 is so easy to beat, for me. A bit cause the result of my swing with master club is still a bit unpredictable, but mainly cause the course can seems to be an easy one..but I see that if you miss the idea or the execution in the wrong place you're done. And I agree totally. Is a really, really nice course. Saturday, after my first round, I said that it was looking not so different from blackflag, but I can't understand how or where I saw this resemblance. I said a totally stupid thing. Probably I was simply awake from too many hours, who knows. Anyway..is simply impossible to say something wrong about this course. Is funny, is fair, it offers a good number of holes in which you can decide your punishment..and a pair of holes are also tempting to try some heroic shot but..is generally not a so good idea, I suspect 👀 Furthermore the 5 par 3s are some kind of setup I really really like in a course. Anyway..will see later how it will ends. Good luck for the rest of your week mate

Thought you might like to know that I have decided to take on creating a Lidar version of Austin Country Club for my next designing project. I'm struggling with planting issues on my Donald Ross course trying to get the look and feel of the course the way that I want, so I've put that project on hold for the moment. I expect this new project to take several months because I have a lot of things going on currently, not the least of which is a music project that requires a lot of my free time. I'm currently working through some alignment issues with the Lidar tool and OSM data, but I expect to have a playable version of the course ready this weekend so I can start the slow process of planting. Good luck the rest of the tournament!

hoosierhoops24 yeah..reading the thread I suspected that finally you would embrace the project Great thing, cause Austin CC is a fantastic course. The version we have is already a good one, to be honest, is nice looking and funny to play, it has just some noticeable difference in the shape of greens and bunkers..and of course I can't know if and how much slopes and elevation changes are trustable. In every case a Lidar version will be great to have..and if you do a work even just near to the level of what you did at Colonial..well..it will be another great course. I'll wait for it patiently, I swear The issue with internet at my home are minimal, if weather conditions is good. Is just a DSL, but is good for my needs. The issues are just when, sometimes, we have too many things connected at the same time, when we and my girl are at home (phones, PC, tablets) and cause my PC is too distant from the modem..but there is nothing I can do for the moment about it. But generally is fine for play, so I'm not worried. I also solved a fastidious problems I discovered weeks ago, cause for some reason one of my internal hard disks, caused issues with the netcard of my pc, and i was used to lose the connection randomly with no apparent reason. I solved simply unconnecting this hard disk. PCs are strange. So..now the plan for my free time today is to check a pair of real courses for the list, then to complete (or restart, I don't know) my practice round and finally to start the tournament. I'm really curious to see how it will be. See you later

-7 for my first round with master clubs. Is in line with what I expected, so I'm deluded just cause I birdied a good number of hard holes (as the first 2 par 3s and the hole 18) but I also wasted almost every easy hole (just to say..i ended with E or +1 in the par 5s + the short par 4, with a bogey on the second par 5, caused by my first shot in the water of my whole career on this tour) and all this cause 2 reasons, in short : 4 putts for birdie missed in a very silly way..and 4-5 approaches resulted in a very light slow that deviated my ball to the right and beyond the cup not too much, but enough to have a medium long putt..and almost every time from the wrong side of the pin.
I think that until I'll not memorize exactly the required swing, I'll suffer this kind of stupid errors. But well..it could be worst for a first round, after all. I'll simply try to learn and improve to be competitive again.

I’m hoping to play my second round tomorrow but it’s going to be a really busy day, so I might end up having to play the last 3 rounds on Saturday. I’ll have to see how it goes. Anyway not bad for your first round, I’m sure you’ll fix your swing issues in no time. Good luck the rest of the tournament.

I'll simply try to learn and improve to be competitive again. Keep at it. Just like most things, it will come with practice. What I have found when putting, and I'm sorry if this is basic knowledge, i'm certainly not implying you don't know how to play the game, but when I putt I always use the 2nd camera (clicking left stick for PS), not the default one. I find that it gives you much better depth perception on the screen and you get a better feel for how far you need to pull back the club, which is much more important on master clubs. I only use that camera on putts though. Everyone has their way they play so you do what feels most comfortable but that has worked very well for me.

csfromks thank you Actually i'm really comfortable with putt, I mean about both camera and reading of breaks/power to use. Is one of those fundamentals in which i improved the most, probably. The putts I miss in a silly way (and it was the same with pro clubs, to be honest I can't say that in my first round I miss those putts cause the master clubs), are mainly cause, for some reason, sometimes my swing starts to go absolutely diagonally, always from left to right, resulting in a devastating slice. I still can't find a way to grab my controller in such a way to have always a straight line, while from tee to green more or less my swing works pretty good, if I'm well focused. I think that the main difference is that from tee to green i follow with my eyes the movement of the stick, in the first part of my swing, then i look at my avatar for the end of the backswing and the downswing..and it works! But I can't use this method for putt and for chips, cause if I don't look my avatar while I putt/chip, I lose completely the feeling with the speed, resulting in ridiculous bombs..or in a ball that rolls for two inches Anyway..i'm confident that in some week I'll solve my tempo issues. I noticed that with wedges i have still a natural slight fast, while with irons i have a slight slow downswing. With driver and woods I'm almost perfect. I suppose it all just about my long time habits with pro clubs. I'll improve. Then I'll start to work on nuances. Now..i'm going to play my second round. In the practice round with this pin and conditions, has been really impressive to see how much fair the course plays, always, even with maximized firmness and speed. No counting how many different ways it offers to play certain holes. No matters what my score will be, this course is really a great one. In practice i scored -9..will see what i can do when it counts. The only dark side in all this, is that at least one time per round i suffer a totally random very fast (or very slow). I see that it has nothing to do with my swing cause the arrow stays everytime at the very end (or at the very start, if is very slow) of the window. In the first round it happened at the hole 17, the last short par 3. And it was "ok"..i saved par. But depending where it happens..it could kill easily a round..if not a tournament. I wish just to understand why it happens..maybe it could be avoidable in some way. I don't know. Anyway..time to play!! See you later

Hi Boys and Girls
question please
are course conditions same as CC-B events of the same time/course
i'm asking because I've just got promotion I think , from coming equal 1st this week and I understand coming 1st=auto promotion its all been a bit of a whizz this online crack tbh and a hell of a lot to take in only did Q-School at the beginning of new season in early Sept , didn't do very good tbh and put in CC-F came 8th in my 1st tournament but was deemed good enough to be fast tracked up a division to CC-E following week in my new division, I came 5th and again deemed a good enough score/position to be fast tracked up to CC-D following week in my new division, what a difference , far tougher imo and i came mid table in a lowly 70th but there was a promotional event, not really understanding what the tournament meant to my new career online again i came mid table according to leaderboard with a score of -27, no great shakes there next thing i know , i got promoted 2 divisions into CC-B because of my -27 score in promotional event this week i've come =1st , which i understand =promotion for winning so if correct, i'll be joining you boys and girls in the big league for a short while my goal is a very lofty one , staying up and grow as a player with you big boys of the game i'm only a pro player and will be no threat to top half of the table if course conditions are the same as the CC-B tourney of the same week , then the score i shot when coming 70th is comparable to see what that score would of got me in CC-A tourney i would of come joint 81st if course conditions was the same as i played that week in CC-B tourney or are course conditions harder as its the top division ? thanks

So what's everyone's weird stats this week? Mine are shooting a -1 in the first round and a -15 in the fourth round, 5 putting for a triple bogey on one hole only to birdie that same hole the other three rounds, and having one round of 31 putts and another round of 17 putts.

Definite roller coaster first week with masters clubs. Shot a mediocre -8 in round one, had tempo and controller issues in round 2 and switched controllers mid-round to come in with a -6. Breaking in a new controller in round 3 saw me make 2 bogies and 2 double bogies (in very easy conditions) and end up at -2. In the final round I missed multiple short birdie putts and lipped out an eagle putt, but managed to come back a little with a -11. The puts me at -27 for the week. Not very good.

Weird rounds? Total inconsistency? Check this : One hour ago I played my second round. Little premise..one of my strong points in this game is that my scores don't affect my humor or attitude. Never. I can score a triple bogey on a hole..or score an ace..and I'm generally very quite until the end. Is really hard to ruin my humor, generally. In everything. And in golf I have no problem to accept the results of an error, or some lack of fortune..cause I know it can happens and that's all. So i was simply a bit nervous before the start, cause in my practice round I saw that in these conditions the best opportunities to score were in the first nine...but i mean..it was nothing really noticeable. Generally this kind of little tension goes away after first two holes. Anyway..as in the first round, I start to slice my putt. Par on hole 1, par on hole 2. Two good chances wasted, both in the same silly way. So i go to the tee of the first par 5 decided to score well. I decided also to push a bit my downswing, cause the fairway there offers the space for a slight fast, then I could decide if to aim to the green with my second or not. This was the plan. Well..superslow downswing and ball in the water. Of course, with the arrow on the bottom line. Totally invented by the game. Then double bogey, cause my chip suffered another identical superslow. After the second superslow i was so pissed off that I could kill someone. I swear. At that point i KNOW I just should to shut off the game and restart later..but I have so little time to play and i was so pissed off for this stupid thing, that I decided I don't give a sh!t anymore and I played all my round. And obviously has been a show of lipped putts and various little errors caused just by my nerves. -1 for the round. Then I watch a pair of episodes of South Park, I smoke a pair of cigarettes and decided to play the third with a total lack of interest, even cause I already know that the medium firm and fast conditions are my worst, for some reason, with putt. -13 for the round. Now I'm -21 for the tournament, I'm going to play my fourth. Looking at the conditions and knowing the course..i should practice before, at least just to check if I need to change some long iron for the two longest par 3s..but I have not the patience to do it. Is my fault, anyway. Of course I know it. To practice with master clubs until Wednesday, I started my tourney only Thursday, yesterday finally had no time to play as I planned and so I has been forced play three rounds in 12 hours again, as last week. Is just my fault. Lesson learned for the future. Now I'm curious to see what will happens on my fourth round.

Ended with a -8. Probably playing my best round from tee to green but..27 putts. Same issue as usual with putt. I really need to solve this thing. Anyway..it change very little, after that second round. Also, actually the final -29 is in line with what I expected for my first tournament with master clubs, more or less. Beautiful, beautiful course. In every condition. After every round I appreciated something new and different. The crowds also gave me a beautiful feeling while I played. Now I must simply continue to practice and to be patient, I suppose. Good Sunday, guys

I’m just very mediocre with masters clubs and it showed. I’m going to continue to work on my game but it may take a back seat now that I’m going to start on Austin Country Club. Enjoy what’s left of the weekend!

I practiced some minute ago Abandoned Dunes, the course for this week. I'm very pleased cause it seems I can play also this week. I'm not sure I ever played 6 consecutive courses without suffer for the glitch. Very happy for this. Furthermore, this week I want to avoid in every possible way to reduce me again to play three consecutive rounds in a bunch of hours, so probably i'll play my first tonight, at worst. Or even before, depending how much free time I can collect today. In practice, with the first round's conditions, I scored -14, with a pair of doable putts missed as usual. But is also true that the default wind was pretty low..so will see. Good luck to anyone, guys Have a nice week.
