This hole plays pretty well. Not a great chance for a hole in one, but its there. I also wanted my markers to be more uniform but too many times the ball just went up and down without hitting anything. So i just threw in a bunch of random ones. Proper "bagatelle" hole that.... I'm expecting flashing lights, dings & dongs as my ball ricochets it's way to the cup!! It's quite the opposite actually. I didn't think about it until i read your reply, but you can hit any object and it doesn't make a sound. I play tested it and hit it as hard as a could into to markers and..... silence. Swing and a miss hb.

Hey everyone, I have exciting news! Daryl_71 is an admin on the Casuals Golf Club society, and they have offered to use the winner's course as a two-round event during one of their weeks, which should get you about 600+ plays. We have added that to the winning prize! Ahoy. Yeah we're historically big on Casuals 'Fun Days' so this contest is of interest to us. Just to clarify we'll actually be playing the top 5 courses over a 3 week period - in our SONY Mini-Golf Super Series. As for field numbers, I can only refer to our most recent PS4 36 hole Fun-D venue, which got 604 plays in 1 day. We'll hype the M-G Series large as ever, so hopefully you guys will get similar. Anyway, below is the planned M-G Schedule, dates tbc - but will be soon after winners are announced. I'll be back in here at the end of the contest, to let you know official Super Series Schedule. Good luck all and thanks for your work. Week 1 | Mon Event | 1D 36H | 5th Placed Entry Week 1 | Thurs Event | 1D 36H | 4th Placed Entry Week 2 | Mon Event | 1D 36H | 3rd Placed Entry Week 2 | Thurs Event | 1D 36H | Runner-up Week 3 | Thurs Event | 1D 36H | Winning Entry and a tasty curtain raiser to our Big Week-Ender

Not sure how i feel about these 2. "The bowties" start with a random chance at an ace over the bridge based on bounce, and if you don't hit the right spot you still have a decent shot at a 2. The second is super risk/reward. A perfectly straight putt will get you an ace, but any deviation and you're in a world of hurt. The lesser skilled putters should take the "out" on the right and tap in for 2.

All the workers have left Bravos Funtainment Plaza as the last details are finally in place. The playtesting phase will consist of one round per day until publish. I am hoping, praying, that during this time no balls get hung up in the tunnels, or stop on the chutes or in an any other unplayable location. Today's round went without a hitch, left 3 shots on the course due to a bad tee shot on the 18th and just a silly missed putt. No lag, except for one hole when you are in the mist of a waterfall, but that lag is to simulate the distraction you would experience putting in a cold mist, dont think I'll lose playability points there but maybe. Very happy with it for today!

Yup, I totally agree. Every picture I've seen in this thread makes me want to play the courses!

Just curious how you guys are setting your pars? My course is fairly short so they are all currently 2. After playing each hole a few hundred times i plan on changing a couple to 3 or 4 based on difficulty. But it seems like 2 is not unreasonable on any hole. I want this course to be easy for people who play it a couple times (to encourage multiple attempts) but i also don't want people to be frustrated if they get in a bad spot and take a 5 on a par three. Personally, even in real golf i don't really pay attention to what the par is because I believe it's an ambiguous number (The easiest par 5 could have a 4.5 scoring average while the hardest par 4 could be the same). I just try and shoot the lowest score i can no matter what bird name it has.

I'm making it where even par is an average score, with anything under par is good. It may take the player a few rounds to get their first under par score...in fact...I would be really shocked to see any player shoot under par in a first attempt.

-18 is a reachable target on my course.. with a certain pin set and some home course knowledge, even that can be bested. I dont really want anyone thinking about what par is, just how to get that stupid ball in that tiny hole. Also in my quest to get a minigolf to course to appear on the handicapped list, par has to be high enough as well as the length of the course. That is also part of the reason, the final par on mine is a clean 60 but I'm sure pin 1 and 2 can be done in 40 strokes, if you play spectacularly. Pin 3 is a different conversation.
I will say that each pinset does come with a chance at an aceatross. I'm curious to see how long it takes to be discovered

Can’t wait to play some of these courses and see what everyone came up with. Thanks Eric for taking the time to organize this. And thanks Chelsea Saint for putting the winners in your society.

I should probably finish the actual course, but... nah embellishments are far more important. Besides, plenty of time left!

I'm curious to see how long it takes to be discovered I see that some (and maybe many) of the contestants in this competition are putting in more than one pin position. Since I was trying to replicate (to some extent) the real "Putt-Putt Golf" experience at my Family Mini Golf & Games course, and I have never been to a mini-golf course with more than one pin position, I only have one on mine. On a lot of the holes it would be difficult to add more due to the contours of the greens. Will the lack of more than one pin cause me to be lose points?
