Welcome to the brand new Meadowbrook CC! The course is designed to showcase how in the modern game where courses are sometimes in the range of 7500 or 8000 yards, a 6800 course can still provide a challenge. With difficult looks off the tee, as well as fast and undulating greens, the course will challenge all parts of your game. Set in The Summit National Park, the course has incredible vistas as well as large elevation changes to provide incredible beauty.
COURSE TOUR
1. Top of the World - 479 Yards Par 4
Right from the start, the signature tee shot will challenge all players. While the drop off will provide some massive distance, avoiding the creek left and bunker right is essential to avoiding a bad start. The green sets alongside the creek left and pond behind, so finding the green is essential.
2. Daredevil - 128 Yards Par 3
Playing over the pond, the green is steep and finding the right section is important to the shallow green.
3. Ski-slope - 434 Yards Par 4
Players will prefer the right side of the fairway to allow the slope to carry the ball back to the middle and avoid the bunker left. An elevated green will provide a great challenge.
4. Fallout - 499 Yards Par 5
The first of five Par 5s, while not very long this hole is incredibly demanding. The tee shot must thread two bunkers before the decision is made: lay-up by the only two trees on the course, or fire at the green with water on the left and a drop-off to the right, that will provide a great challenge to get up and down. It may not seem like it with the yardage but birdies are hard to find here.
5. Dome - 282 Yards Par 4
The first driveable Par 4 on the course, going for the green over the water will need an awesome drive to find the right level of the green, or you'll be faced with a tough flop from the chipping area.
6. Gargantuan - 232 Yards Par 3
This massive hole will require an awesome shot into this huge green to find a chance at making birdie. Par is a great score.
7. Mountain Climber - 606 Yards Par 5
The drive must thread the needle between two massive bunkers to find the slim fairway. Then, the climb to the top of the hill makes this hole impossible to reach in two, so lay-up to a yardage you like and pitch it close for a birdie chance.
8. Crater - 385 Yards Par 4
This hole offers the chance to either challenge the crater bunker and have a wedge in, or lay back to have a much easier tee shot, but a tougher approach. The green, with water left, features lots of slope and demands precision.
9. Canyon - 172 Yards Par 3
The third Par 3 on the front nine, the thin green sits in a bowl and funnels the ball in to the center, but this means a missed green will result in a nearly impossible chip to the pin.
10. Ledge Walk - 509 Yards Par 5
The back nine begins with a difficult tee shot with a bunker left, but a bunker that intersects the fairway on the right side, so just getting the ball on the short grass gives you a chance to find the green in two. The large green features three sections, but finding the right section will be difficult.
11. Double Postage Stamp - 500 Yards Par 4
Arguably the toughest hole on the course, the fairway is incredibly small and hard to hit. And if this wasn't enough, the smallest green on the course awaits here. Take your par and run.
12. Cliffhanger - 145 Yards Par 3
Time to step up and hit an awesome shot. The creek meanders along the right side of the green, but left is a nightmare up and down.
13. Tabletop - 288 Yards Par 4
Similar to the infamous "Five and Dime" at Ridgewood CC, the green is elevated high above the fairway and hitting the green with any club will be an extreme challenge.
14. Risk - 571 Yards Par 5
The last significant downhill tee shot on the course sets the player up with a huge decision: lay up to the left, or challenge the water short of the green and go right at it. Another chipping area awaits behind the green.
15. Elevated Redan - 196 Yards Par 3
A difficult take on the Redan hole, where the players must flirt the edge of the deep bunker to find the left section of the green. Or, they can try to use the slope to feed the ball into the left hand section. But, there is a section of green on the front right above the slope where the hole location will be on Sunday. Nothing short of your best is needed here!
16. Climb - 496 Yards Par 5
The last Par 5 will require a great tee shot to put yourself in position to go for the green up the hill. A legitimate last chance for an eagle to shoot up the leaderboard!
17. Pitfall - 457 Yards Par 4
The namesake of the hole, the Pitfall Bunker runs the entire length of the hole. Staying out of it at all costs is the key for this hole.
18. Island - 430 Yards Par 4
The closing hole plays down a narrow fairway with steep moguls on both sides. The island green is a generous target, and nothing is better than a closing birdie in front of the incredible amphitheater around the green!
I hope you all enjoy, I am fully aware I have zero chance of winning but I look forward to hearing feedback and hopefully becoming a better designer from this! I also wanted to try to meet as many of the requirements as possible to try to build a fun course that fit the bill.
