I'll mix it up a bit, and instead of doing a write-up, I'm going to say thanks to each of the guys on the trip (might do a write-up later).
Mattias mellowswe - Thanks for being such a great roommate. Honestly, it was the most nervous part going in for me. I had a roommate in college who would stay up until 2 am and snored. You were far from such a nightmare. Also, while I didn't witness the OG wacky swing, seeing the ones on the range on the final day was truly a sight to see!
Tim Tim - Thank you for being my partner at Big Sky. We ham and egged it so well. I feel bad for Dan G for how bad we steamrolled him. It was such a blast; I don't think I've ever fistbumped with someone so much in a round!! P.S. Thanks for making me cry laugh at Gold Ar.
Jeff SmilingGoats - Thank you for sharing all the INCREDIBLE photos from the trip! It's a shame I was never able to play in a group with you!
Scott Doyley - Well, Doyley, I don't have a lot to say about you... LOL. Like Jeff, it's a bummer we were never able to play in a group together. The best I got is thanks for showing off your magical putting touch. Also, thanks for not ripping into me about the Euro schedule :^)
Dan G PithyDoctorG - Thank you for showing off your gorgeous swing when I played in the same group as you the last two days. Also, our GCA chat with Dale, and Reeb (and Matt G for like a minute) while waiting for the pizza was lowkey one of my favorite parts of the trip!
reebdoog ... err, I mean Brian - Thanks for all the laughs. How are your impressions and jokes even better in person? Between you (and the course), it made our team getting steamrolled by Dan B feel so much less painful!
Dan B catcherman22 - Thanks for showing off your incredible golfing ability, yet still be one of the most humble people I've met while wielding such an ability. I've met so many uptight and pretentious great players that it was incredible to meet someone so grounded.
Dale coruler2 - Thank you for being so chill as a partner. We paired up so well, and pulling out that halve against Dan B and Mattias was a highlight for me!
Ola mrooola - Thanks for making the ride down to Vancouver such a breeze. Our chat was so simple yet I feel like I remember the whole thing, even GB vs UK. Also shout out to being part of the MOM car.
Matt G staypuft39 - You generous, Canadian-nice... prick. I have so much to thank you for that it's nauseating. I will never forgive you for paying for the jug that I was buying for us to split after our match. Quit being so nice, damn it. Thanks for driving the MOM car, the laughs, the dmoke (Thanks Tim), and a competitive singles match. Even though we didn't play well, it coming down to 18 was almost too perfect. Please let me return the favors and I'll treat you to golf here in Seattle if you make it down.
Finally, Andre Crazycanuck1985 - I'm thankful for the time we had together, like playing with you at Furry Creek and lunch back in Vancouver. Thank you so much for all your time and effort putting the trip together. We are all forever grateful! Also, I'm so glad that your wife is doing alright now!
Cheers, gents. Here's to the next one!
----------------------------------------------------------
P.S. Might not be the next one, or the one after that, and it might not even end up being one of the official yearly TGCT meetups cause it isn't exactly a destination, but I may have a very special invite brewing for a few days at one unique Colorado club. Details are FAR from being announced. You can speculate all you want, but I wouldn't push too hard, cause like I just said, it's not only in the planning stage, but honestly the pre-planning stage. Stay tuned... for awhile.
