Bastiaan Bluffs (the second A is silent) is open for business. This is my CC Contest entry. It is set high above the ocean and has a distinct Australian feel to it. The name 'Bastiaan' is a Dutch name that is popular for boys in Australia. It means verable or revered. Hopefully this course lives up to that.
The three required elements I humbly submit are:
1. At least one hole with an elevation change of 125 feet or greater - Par 5 4th hole 2. At least one par 3 greater than 230 yards - the 5th hole at 240-255 depending on hole location 3. At least one template green complex - the driveable par 4 15th hole at only 270 to the front of the green - **I forgot to mention that my Redan hole (#15) is loosely inspired by Pasatiempo #16. That hole is more of a reverse redan but it is also a par 4 - one of the few par 4 redan holes out there.

Nice course you've got here, after playing Old Henry's Shipyard this week I can see some similarities in the layout. One was the narrowing of the fairway that makes driver a risk but clubbing down isn't too punishing. Nice looking course which I managed an 8 under round on the default settings, will be harder with the fast greens.

Was saving this one as the last CC course (to date) I haven't played as I had a sneaking suspicion from your WIP thread that I'd love it. And I totally did. I think the routing is brilliant and I loved what you do with (to my mind) relatively simple holes and planting - it's great from the point of view of a newer designer to see holes just done really, really well. The lighting was perfect, minimal planting worked wonders and your sculpting is something I really need to learn from. I also totally get what you mean about your 125ft hole - I literally would never have called that elevation there. You've made it play really well though - if your swing is on, you will score here, but there are some really tight areas, yet as Celtic Wolf says, there's always a safe play somewhere. Greens were also great for CC level with enough slope to add interest, but still rewarding a decent shot. I think my favourite hole might well have been 16 with that view of the cool setting as the approach hung in the air, but I loved all of the front nine (even if I scored much better on the back). Right up there with Sindre's as my joint favourite - I just had so much fun on this course. Off to play Old Henry's Shipyard first thing tomorrow . Best of luck - but I don't think you need much of it!

Fantastic course, I would hate to be a judge for this competition, all the courses I have played so far are of such a high standard and Bastiaan is no exception. Could not find fault with it. Great work.
