Welcome to The Great Gatsby Golf Club This is my entry into the Challenge Circuit Championship Located in upstate New York, in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack mountains. The course features a Heathland style, with many rocky outcrops and lots of natural grass and vegetation. You will find this a challenging test of golf on windy days and an easy round on breezy days, with many bunkers that play out to fast downhill situations. The greens are varied, some with many contours and undulations, some with multiple tiers and some that give you almost flat putts. The pin locations can be tight or very forgiving, these changes can make this course tricky to play. The course plays under 6750 yards and features several holes that can be driven from the tees. With 5 par 5’s and 5 par 3’s, some good opportunities for birdies and even eagles can present themselves. Try not to miss the greens on the par 3’s, most are surrounded by heavy rough that make for a tough 2nd shot. You will find the fairways are the place to be with your drives off the tee as you will find tall grass if you miss, and remember that the driver is not always the best option on some holes. Play smart and you can be rewarded with a good score.

My feeble attempt at a video for the course.

Jeeeeez! found that tough going Tom. To be fair I used Master clubs & my tempo was awful so it hard to judge CC suitability. Course looks beautiful (your best to date) - good luck in the contest mate.

Got round to playing this today on pin 4 and really enjoyed my round. I thought the look was nicely done and whilst it's not a real heathland feel (impossible on TGC), it was a cool environment. I thought your short holes were really good - 2 and 5 were really pretty in particular, and I liked the short driveable 4 where the right decision was not to go for it - hard to make players take driver out of the equation on those types of holes! Best of luck with the contest

Hi Tom Nice course. I wanted to see how the course would hold up on pro clubs as many players will use them on the CC tour. I reserved commentating on the course as I am a fellow competitor. Although I do enjoy watching someone play my course at times. even badly , the way I played yours .

Hey Tom, could you please specify in this thread which 3 required elements you want to have judged and specifically which holes where you applied those elements?
For example. If you wanted to use 'At Least 1 Drive-able par 4' you can choose which one you want judged. And if you want to use 'At Least 5 Par 5s' and 'At Least 5 Par 3s' please indicate which holes are your par 5 holes and which are your par 3 holes. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks!

Played this one and must say I’m a fan of the work, I like the lighting and some of the ideas. Some of the transitions between the large and small rocks felt a bit jarring at times but I think the look was nice, on the 6th I loved the tee shot but I think it would have been even better shifted to the right to see the nice hill work and planting you’ve done. The blind tee shot hid some great planting so I would rather have seen that! I enjoyed my round tremendously and thought maybe raising the water in the small ponds would have made them pop even more! Excellent work and good luck in the contest
