“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”
Inspired by the Lewis Carroll poem of the same name & taken from his 1871 novel Alice Through The Looking-Glass, “The Jaberwocky” is a tropical themed golf course encompassing a unique blend of realistic & borderline fantasy holes making for a fun but testing round & is my entry into the TGC Tours 2019 Challenge Circuit Championship Design Contest.
There are 3 different tees to play off & 4 pins to choose from.
For the purposes of the judging with regards to Challenge Circuit suitability the default settings for pin set 1 & following guide should be adhered to:-
CC-Pro flights from the blacks. CC-Amateur flights from the gold tees.
For casual rounds: Master club users should play solely from the black tees.
Pro clubs are best suited to the gold tees but can go from the blacks for a sterner test.
Beginners are urged to use the red tees although the gold set also plays fair.
Tasked with including at least 3 “required elements” as per the rules of the competition I have incorporated 6 from the list of 11 supplied. The 3 holes I want to be judged on for the required elements are #6, #12 & #17:
Edit after clarification of "Required Elements" >>>>>
1/. Course yardage sub 6750 = 6700 from the tips.
2/. Blind tee shot = hole #6
3/. No bunkers (at least 2 holes) = holes #6 & #12
Full list of elements:
1/. A total course yardage of 6700 (stipulation was no greater than 6750).
2/. Holes 6 & 17 are both drivable par 4's (requirement was at least 1).
3/. Hole 6 also doubles up for having the element of (at least 1 blind tee shot).
4/. Holes 6 & 12 are both sand trap free so there's (at least 2 holes with no bunkers).
5/. Holes 4, 9, 11, 13 & 18 are all par 5's ticking the objective of (at least 5 par 5's)
6/. Holes 5, 8, 12, 14 & 16 are all par 3's equalling the requirement of (at least 5 par 3's).
The default settings for The Jabberwocky are:

Holes: 18.
Approximate Length: 6700 yards.

Jabberwocky (full poem)
Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”
He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.
