Guys, I was on this last week and sent him a dm. He never responded, I think it’s dead in the water. It is a great concept that maybe someone else could revive

I didn't realise you'd DM'd him. I was going to do the same if he didn't respond to me quoting him. It would be more likely to work better with 3 players per team instead of 5? Using the lowest 2 scores per team? Maybe the bloke is on holiday or something. I'll message golfin247 on the Xbox as he requested. The society is already up and running apparently. I'm going to check it out!

Hey guys! I'm interested in this a bit. Since we have teams of 5, would we need to put our teams together? I actually have a buddy that plays the game that currently getting his Masters degree at UNC and that's my favorite college basketball team too so I would be interested in having that slot! Would you want us to try to put a team together. I have a couple of my friends that are on TGC that I could probably get to play. I can think of probably about 5 right now actually. Also, just let me know about how long events last and how many rounds we have to play. I'm already a bit spread thin, but I can always fit some more golf in if need be Thanks for giving me the heads up BENNY6676

I don’t think this got off the ground from the sounds of things but it looks like there is interest in a team competition or sorts. Perhaps somebody could take the concept and run with it? Maybe you can form your own teams and bring them to the contest or enter as a solo player and be paired up?

I DM'd golfin247, xEB50x on Xbox and he's got back to me saying he is keen to do it still. I asked him to come and check out this thread and answer any questions for us so we know a bit more about it.

To all that is still considering NCAA Golf,
I have to be honest to all of you off the bat. I stopped paying attention to the thread, due to the interests off the bat. Now since there is interests to this amazing idea, I am becoming fully committed to the idea again!!
The way I came up with this idea was because I am a aspiring collegiate gplfer myself and I was astonished to see that no one had ever come up with this idea.
For the people that are confused by the rules is that in NCAA Division I,II, and III Golf, they play differently than the PGA, Korn Ferry, Mackenzie, Euro, etc. College teams will bring 5 guys to each tournament and they play as a team. They do a format where they have 5 players and the keep the 4 lowest scores. For example, (since this is most publicly known team) Oklahoma State goes to a tournament and their scores are:
Wolff: 65 Hovland: 67 Eckroat: 70 Bauchou: 73 Wood: 71
They will throw out Bauchou's 73 and their score for the round will be 273 (-15). College golf also plays for 3 rounds.
Since I don't think we will be able to get 125 players, I think we can do 25 (5 teams per power 5 conference) teams of 3, but the teams can do 3 players, count 2.
The teams I have selected for season one of the league are:
Big 12- Oklahoma State Oklahoma Texas Texas Tech West Virginia SEC- Louisiana State Georgia Alabama Florida Vanderbilt ACC- North Carolina Wake Forest Duke Florida State Clemson Pac 12- Oregon Stanford UCLA Arizona State USC Big 10- Illinois Michigan State The Ohio State Purdue Michigan
I can attach the spreadsheet of all this information once I have compeyed the schedule and finalized the leaderboards.

Are you going to have the 3 rounds over the course of a week golfin247? Quite a few of us are committed to quite a few rounds each week already so the longer the better to compete each event?

Also, are you going to try and balance the teams, like 2 pro tour players 1 cc player Or 1 pro 2 cc Or Pick any 3 regardless of tour?
I think if everyone indicates their tour u can balance better?
Also, a bit concerned it will be impossible to fill all those schools. May have to cut it to 12 (36player)or 8 (24 players)schools. I’ll continue to watch the thread to see where this leads. Thx
