Welcome to Prometheus Cove, my entry in the Major Championship Design Challenge. Though it is among the shorter courses in the competition at 7,172 yards, its twisted fairways, treacherous greens, and intimidating bunkers should provide a test of one's shot making ability, especially when the wind is up, as is often the case on this barren coastal course.

First off, great pictures for the thread - they really drew me in. Played with round 1 settings. Love the look from the first hole; I'm assuming Chambers Bay inspired some of the feel? Lots of slightly quirky elements like the cave bunker on the second, which I liked and I'm a big fan of the generally natural, open feel. The element that didn't fit for me was the background of trees (from 4th tee, for example). Some more cliff-like sculpting would have fitted a little better, for me. Thought the routing was great and I LOVED the 5th and the quality of the bridge and grandstand work. On some holes, like 6, 10 and 15, I'd have liked an option to hit 3 wood to a wider area of the fairway; there's no real reason not to hit driver into the tight gap, as the whole fairway is the same width. That said, it's for a major, so I get the tight landing zone, and I did enjoy the feeling of plotting my way round the 10th to get a birdie hitting 4 wood, 5 iron PW! Hole 8 was fun and I actually played way right intentionally into the heavy rough to get the angle in - I made the mistake of not allowing for as much roll out so still had a lengthy two putt. Greens were well sculpted and played nicely throughout. Finished +2, which I'm fairly happy with - just the one horror three putt and a couple of missed up and downs. Really liked the course and hope you do well

Thanks for the play!

Thanks for the play! Not so much didn't like as I didn't feel it fitted as well. Chambers Bay was comfortably the most fun US Open I can remember and I loved having that feel around Prometheus Cove. The coastline areas were really cool and some of my favourite holes used the sea as a great defence.

Played this course this morning and really enjoyed it! Though I would’ve enjoyed it more if I was good at this game, heh... nice work, keep it up!

Here's my playthrough. Enjoyed the Chambers Bay vibe of this course. Good luck in the contest!

Nice job on this one. Definitely had that Chambers Bay feel. Really enjoyed your grandstand work on #5 with the walking bridge. That was my fav hole.
My only nit pick is I wish it was a little tougher. But that's a small thing.
5 star.
