Calling joegolferg - you played this yet? Always appreciate your comments on courses I build, especially when done in this style.

Calling joegolferg - you played this yet? Always appreciate your comments on courses I build, especially when done in this style. Unfortunately I haven't. The day after the publication window opened, my broadband went down and is still down, now. It could still be up to another week yet, major problem in the area. I'm itching to play.

Another very good one.
A lot of neat looking holes. 4, 6 and 14 come to mind.
Little Oakmont esque.
I played solid thru 15. Had it -10.
Then missed a 4 footer on 16, 5 footer on 17 and putted it off green on 18. Good times.
But another great old school design!
5 star

Here's my playthrough. B.Smooth13 knows I have a soft spot in my heart for MacRaynor's and this one fits the bill. Enjoyed my round here. Good luck in the contest!

Here's my playthrough. B.Smooth13 knows I have a soft spot in my heart for MacRaynor's and this one fits the bill. Enjoyed my round here. Good luck in the contest! Watched through this yesterday evening, thanks very much for taking the time to do these, it was one of the most enjoyable "playthrough" type videos of one of my courses that I've ever watched. There were a lot of times when I was thinking to myself "man, he gets it" when you were talking about hole strategy or design - notably, almost immediately called the 16th for what it is, a take on 10 at Riviera. Also appreciated your comments on what could have been different/shouldn't have been done, and found myself agreeing with basically all of that after some time away from the course (thinking specifically of the retaining wall bunker on 9, which I firmly blame my in-laws for since I just had to find something to do to occupy my time while they were visiting). Lastly, despite having played this a few times since publish, only just realized when watching your video that the 12th published as a par 5. That's frustrating, was definitely intended as a 4, but it is what it is. Thanks again for the time you've taken to do these, and glad you enjoyed the course!

I actually really like the bunker retaining wall on 9. It's not really in play and it's something I haven't seen. Or if it has been done...not nearly as big as yours on #9. I'm a big "different is always good" kind of guy...and it's certainly different!

Let's play 'spot the template.'
Hole 1. Original design
Hole 2. Original design (inspired by an inverted Biarritz?)
Hole 3. Alps/Punchbowl
Hole 4. Unintentional 'narrows'
Hole 5. Cape
Hole 6. Short
Hole 7. Road
Hole 8. Original design
Hole 9. Long
Hole 10. Original design
Hole 11. Original design (long par four cape)
Hole 12. Original design (green reminds me of the Biarritz at Whippoorwil CC)
Hole 13. Leven
Hole 14. Original design.
Hole 15. Unintentional 'bottle'
Hole 16. Cape
Hole 17. Redan (a spectacular rendition)
Hole 18. Plateau (with a well placed principals nose)
Any of these chime with your original intentions?
