A traditional course built for tournament play with plenty of room for massive crowds. The generous fairways will make the golfer believe the course is easy but the real challenge comes in on the approach shots and extreme examination of the players short game. The player must plan the approach shot in order to put their ball in position for any chance at a putt. Course is par 70 and a little over 7400 yards from the back tees Tournament play should always be from the blue tees. Americana offers a patriotic theme with red white and blue 150 markers, three of the four tees sets are red white and blue, two American flag flower gardens, and red white and blue flower arrangements.

Finally getting around to playing all these Major Contest courses.
Things I loved about this place -
1.) Really nice diverse variety of hole shapes and sizes. 2.) Lots of room to hit it off the tee, but then you had to be really precise into some of the greens. 3.) TUCKED PINS. Only played pinset 1, but some of those were on little mounds and knolls that could knock your ball of either side if you missed by a little bit. I love seeing it when designers aren't afraid to trick up their hole locations.
4.) I've always been a sucker for big flat-bottom waste bunkers, similar to Pete Dye style, and there were a good number of those out here. They just frame fairways really well and they were really done well here. 5.) The back nine stretch from 10-14 was paced really well, where it takes you back into a forested area which is unlike the beginning and ending holes. 6.) Reminds me a bit of a few great courses combined, with Bay Hill in there, as well as Sawgrass.
Great course! I am terrible at this game so I could barely break 80 even without wind, but it was a lot of fun.

Fun course. Tough greens. Sent two putts off the green completely, and missed 2 putts inside 6 feet as well as a 10 foot eagle on 18. Ended up with a -4 66 despite only having 5 pars in the round - ended up with 5 bogeys, 7 birdies, and an eagle hole-out on 4.

Loved the course Todd, simple but still looks great. Great sight lines off the Tees, loved the bunkers. The greens were a bit over cooked to my taste but still played fair if you place your shot right. Awesome job

Really lovely, smooth big fairway course. Reminds me of a proper fancy course you'd find behind a large fence to keep out the pesky neighbours. The plot shows generous routing i.imgur.com/XWiwvEb.jpgCool looking flag in front of the first fairway i.imgur.com/kHNS1rq.jpgNot a lot of trouble when you're hitting them good in low winds. My only concern is the pin placements on some orange slopes, when there is green slopes around them. (8,11,14) Yet 10 and 17 were done well with the pin at the bottom or top of an orange slope. There is no real layup option on 7, you either hit the fairway or your in the sand. Got a flier off the path on 10. A couple of bunkers needed an additional smoothing (as an example on 16 I panned around to see the lip). But nit-picking, and a great track. I gave it 5 stars!
