Just wanted to stop in and say thanks to the RRCC guys for getting my course out there. It is creeping up on plays and hopefully will be HCP Rated soon. Hope you all enjoy Horseshoe Bay this week. I at least played well on my own course, which probably has a lot to do with the 100+ times I had already played it. As for the other courses, I quite enjoyed them but didn't play my best on either. Enjoy the week, and don't be afraid to reach out with comments or critiques. I've already learned a ton from watching a couple of playthroughs from streams and the like. Horseshoe bae

Alright Mr McCabe, results for Week 8 and the conclusion of the 'Who Gives A Flick Invitational' tournament are in! And what a busy week it's been with the promotion event on top, I wish all of you who moved up the best of luck in your new tours and to the rest of you, carry on! Please note these standings are still using the original tours for everybody as it was played on the same week as the promo event. Once I've finished this I'll be trawling through the promotions list on the main site and updating all the information. This does of course mean we are likely to be losing a few players from our ProAm leaderboard for tournament 3. We've had good numbers on there so far this season, hopefully that'll continue but if it starts dipping under 30 players a week I'll add Web players in like we did last season. Week 8 was played at three very well received courses: Bandit Ridge / Boreal / by Brian Jeffords Boardwalk Preserve / Tropical / by Justin Chantres Shelter Island Club / Highlands / by PithyDoctorG Dan Griffith (PC) who gets a tag being as he played so I registered him Results (72 Players)
1. B.Smooth13 Justin Smedley (PC) -452. blueorfe Bradley Garcia (PS4) -42 3. GW_Hope John Glenwood (PS4) -38 Best RoundsBandit Ridge -17 gumpy Gordon Van Wagner (PS4) Boardwalk Preserve -16 B.Smooth13 Justin Smedley (PC) Shelter Island Club -14 B.Smooth13 Justin Smedley (PC), blueorfe Bradley Garcia (PS4), edi_vedder Thomas Oberholzer (PS4), gavlaar124 Gavin McCabe (PS4) What can you do but sit back and admire the scoring? The big guns battle it out at the top and are the only two to break the -40 barrier, Justin Smedley taking his 5th win of the season 3 shots ahead of Bradley Garcia who takes his 4th podium. In an all PGA top 3 for (I believe) the first time this season, John Glenwood takes his 3rd top 3 finish in 3rd place. The best Euro player was in a share of 4th place, Thomas 'The Boss' Oberholzer earning a first tag of the season thanks to a share of the best round at Shelter Island. And the best Web player is now a Euro player (congrats ) but keeps his Web status for this week, Gordon Van Wagner finishing in a share of 6th thanks to a phenomenal round at Bandit Ridge. -17 is some going round there! ProAm Results (37 Players)
1. hojen Johan Ahlmark (PC) -342. Crazy Croc Marc Van Niekerk (PC) -32 2. gmangi1955 Steve Gist (PS4) -32 4. Me and 2 others -31, so close!Best RoundsBandit Ridge -12 hojen Johan Ahlmark (PC), Giraffe72 Jamie Gale (Xbox) Boardwalk Preserve -13 ThePheniiix Titi Vivi (PS4), moneyman273 Jason Conrad (Xbox) Shelter Island Club -13 pc17 Phil Crampton (PS4) We now have 7 different winners in our 8 weeks of the ProAm tournament, Johan Ahlmark becomes the latest to take his first with a 2 shot victory, even managing to steal some of my glory with a share of the best round at Bandit Ridge! The one multiple winner we do have at this level is Marc Van Niekerk, and he takes his 6th top 3 finish in a share of 2nd place with Steve Gist. Marc was representing CC-D so well but not any more, no surprise that he's jumped 3 tiers to CC-A in the promotion event but he's still looking like the man to beat in this tournament. So to the final standings in the tournament. How would those week 8 finishes affect the outcome and who are our tournament champions? The Who Gives A Flick Invitational Final Results (98 Players)
1. B.Smooth13 Justin Smedley (PC) 448 Points2. blueorfe Bradley Garcia (PS4) 355 3. GW_Hope John Glenwood (PS4) 342 ProAm Results (52 Players)
1. Crazy Croc Marc Van Niekerk (PC) 2302. verney Fabrice Pillet (PC) 197 3. pc17 Phil Crampton (PS4) 188 Not really any drama in the main tournament with Justin winning this week, he didn't even need his extra 10 point lead he gained from our little scoring glitch. Many congrats to him on making it two out of two, and Bradley and John's good results in week 8 has pushed them back up in to the top 3 which funnily enough is the exact same top 3 we had in the first tournament! That's the challenge for the rest of you, to try and get in amongst those 3. The top Euro and Web players have already been tagged elsewhere in this write up, Gavin McCabe the best Euro player in 8th and Gordon Van Wagner the best Web (for the last time) player in 16th. A bit more drama in the ProAm, and it's a well deserved first tournament victory for Marc Van Niekerk after he lost out in the final week in the first tournament. He's even good enough for 7th on the main leaderboard which when you look at the company he's keeping is quite some achievement. Fabrice Pillet is the bridesmaid for the second tournament in a row and Phil Crampton makes up for losing out on a podium finish last time by grabbing 3rd place this time. Sadly for him Fabrice won't get the chance to be the bride because happily for him he just made Web . That's a wrap for this tournament, thanks as always to everybody who played and made all this worthwhile, and congrats to anyone who got a tag for any reason. Always remember we keep leaderboards more for a bit of fun than anything else, the main thing is to go out and enjoy brilliant designs like the 3 we played this week. RRCC is always open for new members, details of how to register in the OP. Good time to start now with Week 9 (still live until Thursday) the first week of a brand new tournament! Great write up, as usual, Giraffe72 always a good read. Thanks again for all the work done behind the scenes to get the scores collated and results out each week. You'll have a big job this week with all of the promotions to update including your own, congrats.

Ha, thanks Has to be said the score collection this season has been the best we've ever had, the team behind the scenes deserve a lot of credit. I've just updated the players list, it actually wasn't as big a job as I thought. In my case CC to CC is still CC! I think we had about 8 who moved up to a Pro Tour and 1 who moved down so not as much change as I thought.

I think we need a separate leaderboard for us Xbox peasants. Someone at hb must have a major beef with Xbox

I think we need a separate leaderboard for us Xbox peasants. Someone at hb must have a major beef with Xbox I would love to have a go on Xbox to see how truly difficult it is compared to PS4, but I’m not about to go and buy one out of curiosity and nobody near me plays TGC, to my knowledge.

Meaningless to use individual subjective descriptions of the experience, the only thing we are absolutely sure about is masters tempo is way, way more difficult on XB1 (but not pro clubs, I always cringe when XB1 pro club players talk about difficulty because pro clubs on XB1 are easier than the other 2 platforms, it's only with master's that they are utterly screwed), based on the stats Jeff posted across all players. Perfect downswings on PS4: 77% Perfect downswings on PC: 68% Perfect downswings on XB1: 46% And this particular comment from Jeff really brought home the reality of how insane the difference is for XB1 players:

I forget. So that is old reference data isn’t it? It also doesn’t take into consideration those that actually play for fasts. I’d say I actually play for them on at least 25% of my shots. I can’t be alone. That said, I’d like to see how difficult I find Xbox tempo. Difficult tempo is one thing. Random tempo is another and I’m not sure what Xbox has.

Tempo is completely random on Xbox, you’re convinced you’ve just nailed the fast you were aiming for, only to see the result is a slow etc. Using pro clubs on Xbox I liken to the original game. I can pick a spot and 9/10 I’ll hit it with pro clubs, master clubs you have to factor in the lottery that is random tempo

I play on X1 and I'm glad that other feel the tempo is random. There are times that the same swing speed yields 3 different results.

I'm not sure it's random even though it feels that way at times, I think it's just incredibly difficult to consistently get the transition from back to forward swing right. You can swing forward with the same speed every time but it's that bit in the middle that gets you. I just played Harrenhal, was going along quite nicely until VFs at 12 and 13 cost me doubles and then I had about 3 more after that. It's infuriating! These patches did literally nothing to fix it, I see no difference at all. I still enjoy the challenge with Masters more so I stick with them for these events, but I've dropped to Pro in my TGCT rounds because I just can't compete and it was driving me mad. I miss my Masters driver off the tee but that's 14 (at most) shots a round. Every single other shot is immeasurably easier with Pro clubs.
