Wow. I can be wrong, but this second round it will be though. The pin positions are really demanding. The wolf shows his fangs, finally Often, even with a good placement a birdie needs to be really deserved cause if you miss rhe right strenght, after the pin there is the slopes that can push you out of the green. And some of those pins can easily become the hell of a weak putter (that is foundamentally what i am 👀). And as in the first round, there's a good chance that i will miss the right club to reach some green of the long par 3s, but doesn't make sense to change some club, cause i don't know from where the wind will blows, then is useless to change just to change. It will be interesting. For sure.

Long Holiday weekend in the rearview, here weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeegoooooooooooooooooo Round 1 was as good as it gets for this gawlfer: Onward! wow.. awesome mate! The long weekend seems worked quite well to recharge your batteries Go straight forward!! In the meantime i just ended my second round. Probably i have never played so good from tee to green. Unbelievable how much straight i hit that ball. If only i could find a way to play everytime in this way... But my putt was awful. More then usual, even for some very biting pit position. So i was -3 at the start of the 16 (after 5 birdies and 2 bogeys, one with my usual three putt hole)...then i birdied 16 and 18 and, at the 17, i score a putt from 15 meters downhill with double slopes...something never seen. And maybe the longest putt i ever scored in this game, for a final -7 that seems to be impossible. I think i have at least 4-5 shots to recover now if i want another promo mark..but it could be worse. A lot. i love this game cause it can be very..very strange. You must be never too sure to win even if you have huge advantage on your opponents...and you must never to give up, even if nothing seems to work. Never. I'm a bit curious to see the new standings to check if was only me who suffered those pin positions so much.

Wow I thought you guys were crazy. WHAT WIND. And then......I just could not get it going until the 15th Bad decisions, bad execution and not following my instincts. Then -5 the last 4 holes. It’s been so long since big wind.

I'm improving, but clearly still not enough). Do you mean that the wind was really strong in the first round? Or in the second? Maybe in both of them? I ask cause if it was the case it sounds a bit strange to me,cause in my first two rounds the wind was not so regular but not too strong,in the end. It was between 9/12km/h (few holes),13/19 km/h (the majority) and 20/25 km/h (very few holes). In both of the two first rounds, more or less. Sorry if i speak in km/h,but i have not idea in miles/h. This count sounds familiar to you?

Sorry,i'm still no good enough to understand everytime everything. And yes..the wind is really not consistent. I don't know if you already played the 3rd round, but it works in the same way. But easier pin positions then the 2nd.

I'm quite happy. My third round was really a good one. Usually i always struggled in the first nine, even in practice. This time i was -5 after 5 holes. And generally i played again a very solid round from tee to green, with just some kick to the left in my swing in the first nine but then it stopped (i don't know exactly why,but..). But the best thing it was the putt. I scored some long one, missing in fact nothing in short and mid range..and also those long putts missed, they were missed always for inches. A pair of them shorts for some hair. (i HATE when it happens. It is the thing i hate more, about golf. That ball who stop his run just 3 inches from the cup). The final -11 is not the best i could obtain from this round, but at least is good enough to have some chance in the last round. And it was my goal.

I’m just glad there are 18 holes ant not only 14. In the first 2 rounds I’m -10 on the last 4 holes. I think I’m +2 on the first 14 LOL. Just can’t score

I ended wirh a -7. The final -33 i assume it will be not enough for another lucky promo mark. The funny thing is that, before, i played as usual a practice round with the predicted conditions for the 4th pin with default wind. And in my round the wind was stunningly strong. And i scored -11. (missing 6 faiways but just one green ) Then i play the tournament round and the wind was very gentle in almost every hole. I don't play bad,but it was one of those rounds which the ball after a tee shot stops always at a distance that absolutely don't allows a full shot to the green. And the combination with the need to "work" that ball a bit and the very hard greens, it ends in almost every ball being a bit too short or too long to have a good putt. Obviously i missed as usual at least 3 putts in my usual way (short by inches. Grrrr). And the usual three putt bogey. Anyway..i don't know if someone will agree, but sometime (especially with very hard ground conditions) a strong wind (in my face,in particular) helps me to play, instead to be an issue. I wish to end with a thanks to Celtic Wolf, who offered us a very interesting course for this tournament. I really enjoy it. I hope you can create some other soon. Good end of tournament to everyone, guys!

I believe it's not the SPEED of wind but more direction of the wind that makes it difficult. I would rather gave a cross wind then a head or tail wind. As you say getting to the best place for a full club is difficult with head and tail winds unless you have played the course many times.
THIS my complaint of a few months ago - we RARELY get to see courses more then ONCE and then on to a new one.

When i struggle with the wind (but honestly i'm quite good to read it,as the elevation changes. They are not my main problem) it happens generally with strong trasversal winds. You know..those winds who blows just to your right or left but not completely. Viceversa,i'm pretty good with the strong wind exactly on my face or on my back. For some reason i read it very well, usually. About the courses rotations..sadly is the nature of the beast I mean..is obvious (and correct, in the end,i understand it easily) that a new course is always "better" then an old one..no matters how good that old course is. Whar really is stunning me,working on my list,is that almost half of the almost 1000 course we have in the tgct list, are still not handicapped. The half. Is an enormity. And more stunning is that half of this half (👀 shhh..you just pretend that's all clear) has less then 100 plays. Sometime less then 40/50. And i'm talking about also some course made by the our best designers. And testing those courses,i noticed that we have some real gem, lying just forgotten. Is one of the reason why i'm doing this list (if i ever find a way to share it in a way that makes it accessible for everyone..but i'm struggling just to do this). I wish to help the best courses to stay unforgotten. No matter how old they are. But i'm not so sure it can really work. We will see.

Round 3 : -4
Round 4 : -6
Kinda fizzled out after that first round, but -28 is pretty darn good for me.
Onward!
