Wow!!! A bizarre course this week, more suited to a Q-School event in my opinion but it is what it is & the schedulers always warn us at the start of each season that occasionally a really stern test of golf will be chosen even though we reside on the CC tours. I'm not a lover of RCR courses but can understand why many players are so I just tee it up as usual knowing once I've ground out all 4 rounds I won't need to play another on it ever again.
Anywhoooo! Played first 2 rounds and as per usual I'm sitting mid division with an average score; in this case of 11 under par.
Nothing Dramatic, nothing exciting, nothing disastrous just a good laugh at some of the hole designs & pin placements.
As you were folks & good luck if you've yet to finish.

What in the world is that 11th green?
Edit: What in the world is that 16th green?!
-9, -6, -4, -9 for -28
Welcome to CC-A no mans land I guess. No promotion or demotion marks this week. Oh well, happy to be a part of the group, on to next week, is it Monday yet?

Well I got my CC-PRO baptism this week. Started with a 61 feeling pretty great, got a reality check in R2 but managed to tough out a 68. Shot 65 in R3 thinking I'll at least hang around mid pack then I had a meltdown with the heavy winds and long pro club approaches in R4 and shot a horrendous 75. I smell a demo mark.

Done... I know now what the top tour players have to contend with on a weekly basis. I commend anyone who finished all 4 rounds & can only marvel at those earning promotion marks.
11 under through 36 followed up with a bogey free -8 including an eagle at the 11th on the much fairer settings for round 3 before a customary disastrous -2 on the outrageously pinned round 4 for an underwhelming event total of 21 under par.
Chin up - we go again & next week's offering might not be an RCR.....

I didn't find the course to be overly tough and actually would rank it in the top 3 of easy courses I have played this season. I should have been top 10 this week and I kick myself in the ass for my own mental errors. Main reason I'm still not on the Euro Tour.

I didn't score great, but that's because im not great.

Well, the course decided it was not my time to go to Web. I can't even count how many times it seemed like the ball squirted off my club one way or the other and I wasn't on a red or yellow slope and I had a straight swing path.
I also can't count how many times the ball was rolling on the correct line and then just dove off right in front of the hole.
Or how many times I'd hit an approach to my yardage and then it would just keep rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling
Ah well. We'll see what next week brings!

What I found tough & in some cases unfair was a fair few of the greens, the settings (bar round 3) & a good share of the pin placements. I'm no great player either & am happy so long as I keep my CC-A status.

i also notice that even though they were fast greens, they didn't feel any faster than normal greens. ive noticed that on courses w/ fast greens. Is it a ps4 thing? Or is it very subtle? Cuz they felt pretty standard.

Hi all,
Returned from vacation today, so had to rush to get my rounds in in my first week here in CC-A.
Was a bit rusty after not having played 10+ days but still managed a decent -33. Could have been better with a bogey bogey finish - that hurt - in the last round, but at least it seems I can play good enough to not make a fool of myself in this division.
Hope to start hunting for green thingies as of tomorrow! π
Best wishes, Frans

I was sitting in striking distance of a top 10 thru 3 rounds and just could not find my tempo in round 4.
Quite a few fasts and slows, with a handful of VFs mixed in. I scrambled the whole round for a -6 and finished -35 for the tournament.

Played the first two rounds of the new week but Iβm not telling anyone about the scores... πππ
Best wishes Frans
PS If anyone is thinking βSurely, it canβt be THAT bad?β... Trust me, it can! π

I think I picked the wrong week to switch to Pros for the entire tournament(PGA Qualifier). Course plays Long with Pros
I struggled to average -6 per round and came in at -23

So, after playing all rounds today, one thing is clear; no green thingy for me this week and I am in serious danger of collecting a red thingy instead. Putting was my downfall - not good on ice...
Best of luck to all, Frans
