Those of you who are new to CC-A:
Usually a -6ish per round will keep you from getting a demotion mark and usually a -9ish per round will get you a promotion mark.

Ashton Fox sounds like i need to hit closer approaches. do you draw/fade the ball a lot to tucked pins or just go right after it? with long irons sometimes i'll draw/fade but not as dialed in with judging it I don't normally use a draw or fade. I'll try to find a landing area or use the slope of the green to my advantage. Some of the spots I pick to land the ball are high risk/high reward. The biggest thing I've learned that helped my game is not to always aim for the pin but rather to the area of the green that gives you the best putt. agreed on that. If lets say theres an L-shaped green. If the pin is tucked and hard to approach, i'll typically aim for what will at least give me a putt.
if theres a 2-tier green, i'll try to make sure im at least on the tier the pin is on.
Maybe i'll get lucky and drain a putt, but at least I should be able to get a 2-putt par.

I'm in the hut. 65, 69, 60, 64 for a -30 total. Second round is going to cost me a green tick, had a 7 on the short par 5 on the back 9 after just missing the green in 2. I don't want to talk about it. Completely lost the plot for a bit in that round. Third round was good but would have been better but for a couple of silly bogies, fourth round was one of those 'nearly' rounds until I bogied the last and then it became a 'not close' round. Top 50 or so I imagine, 5 shots ish short of where I want to be.
Not sure what to make of the course, it's a bit different, that's for sure. Good luck all!

I'm -19 through 2 rounds. Had only two VFs in round 2, but both cost me a bogey. 😞
But, am sitting in 3rd on XB leaderboard at the mo, so I'll take it. 😊

Found this course particularly tough, mainly the fast greens so even dropping 1 club back sometimes wasn't enough!
Finished on -18, so a decent start.
I'm continuing with pro clubs until promotion.

Good luck Ohh dear I haven’t played round two yet, I’ve seen some of the scores on the leaderboard so I guessed it’s tougher conditions than the first.

Hopefully this will be my last week of posting in this group. I'm sitting on 4 promo marks and I'm itching to get to Web with my #OppressedBox. I played the first 2 of the Web event this week and I'm -11 which would be pretty close to making the cut. However, I have the daunting task of making it in the Top 20 one more time in this tier which is never an easy task. There is a lot of talent here in A and I enjoy the focus that playing here has caused me to have when playing the game because I take my time and really analyze each and every shot.
As always, good luck to everyone this week but special good luck to me! (Taylor Swift reference) as I hope to leave you all for a more masterful web.

Didn't have to go to work today, yay
Saved last two rounds to play today, yay
Not the only country in the world which has workers day on May 1, yay
Tempo measurer taking a break today as well it seems, crap load of slow back-of-all-things swings
Only decent shot I hit all day long...
