In an effort to see what is working for some to be able to play the game I'm looking for two things. The first is the DPI/sensitivity and the second is how long is your back swing? Finally just put your info in the space below the poll I'll start with my own.
What we are looking for is "How is the best way you get that p/p stroke?

Currently I'm at 700 DPI, about 60 Sensitivity 60 and about 1/2 - to 1 inch backswing on the mouse. I make a Perfect / Perfect swing about 20 % of the time

That is a pretty good video.I have to admit I haven't thought about the mouse acceleration setting and I will give that a go a little later today. I've experimented with DPI settings from 400-800. The lower DPI is going to allow us to have a straighter swing, tho not necessarily a perfectly straight swing but one that will be in the cone more often. The mouse sensitivity I was raising to 70 to offset the lower DPI but I like your solution of upping the acceleration and keeping the sensitivity lower.
I plugged my controller in today and took some swings and the tempo is much easier to get on the controller tho my accuracy sucks. I can't really use my thumb due to a few operations on it so I was using a finger but the tempo was quite good. What it did do was give me an idea of how little i needed to actually move the mouse.
My final question to you is roughly then how far is your back swing and downswing? It really looked like you were speeding through the downswing about 2-3 x further than your back swing.

My back swing on the mouse pad is around 3/4 to 1 inch and for the upswing it's by feel. If I had to guess, I probably push the mouse 25-35% faster for the down swing. Out of habit I just ram the mouse forward, however, you don't need much forward movement with the mouse to achieve any down swing.

I have tried to use my Xbox One controller on my PC but it's all over the place. The Xbox 360 is a little better because the right stick is firmer but I want to get better with the mouse. Saving this thread for later, thanks.

Saving this thread for later, thanks. That is what I'm hoping to do, get better with the mouse because that is pretty much all I can use unless I use a controller with my finger to hit the ball instead of the thumb.

Havent found anything playable yet, i admit i haven't really tried much, lost all interest in 2019 so sticking to the designer for now (starting to get annoyed with that as well) The closest i came to workable mouse settings was 900DPI (normaly im on 3000) and ingame sensitivity maxed out, as for the motion, short(maybe about an inch)...wait...wait...wait and then just slam it forwards.
Havent tried polling rate yet, not sure if it would have any effect at all, or if it would get better or worse lowered, could maybe be that a slower polling rate would be a little straighter but i guess it could also mess it up completely
