Well guys I sit here stunned. and not in the good way! lol
last night, I played a bit later than I'd usually play, because I was watching preseason football. Since it was later, I thought, I wonder if I'm too tired, if that will affect my play, and I had to get up early this morning. I decide to play a practice course just to see how I was playing.
Played my PR, some course I saw that I saw mentioned in a thread, and did really well. Hit everything dead on straight, and finished -2. Cool, I'll play my R4 then.
First hole, I practice swing'ed a couple times, and they were straight, so I went to the real thing, and... hit it wide right. Like, WAY wide right. I managed to salvage it into a bogey. Second hole, same thing. I dont' mean just a little bit off, these shots were WAY off. Like next fairway through the woods thing. In fact, thinking of it, some of them were in the wood so bad I couldn't even see my golfer. (btw, when you guys get that, do you just do what I do, and try to listen for the swing sound to hit it out?)
Anyway, I somehow managed to get a par off this one, as it is a par 5.
But thereafter... it continued... I would take practice swings, and be in the cone, and then the real one, was so far right or left it wasn't even close. I was missing EVERYTHING, and every putt it seemed. After depressing 7 holes, and already at +7, I called it a night, and just decided to finish today.
Today I loaded it up, and same thing. could practice swing fine, but couldn't hit anything straight when it counted. Not being a quitter, I was just playing it out, still trying, each hole.
All the sudden, at 14, it evened out, and I started hitting pars again.
After finishing with this +14, being depressed because I came into it at +4, hoping to go down a bit, I decided to play Wyndom. And pretty much parred everything....
So I have no idea what happened, I just know that between this and the other night, I have developed an unhealthy hatred now for Sawgrass. lol

I had 8 holes just like that on Sawgrass myself. Everything seems like it’s going well then the dreaded hook or slice would show up. 18 did it to me all four rounds. I finished -19 for the tournament but if you take out those 8 holes and I just got par on them I’d be -30. My goal for next week is no blow up holes. I figure that will save me 6-8 shots.

I could not resist, I went ahead and played my R1 at Liz Chappelle. (Normally I play it on Monday night, but work is supposed to be weird hours for the next two weeks)
I hit 75, but I am happy with it. If you read through my post above, you'll see why. LOL
But I was back to hitting the ball straight again, hitting fairways, and greens, mostly in reg. Putting is what got me those 3 of those 4 extra strokes, these greens have lots of slopes on them, so try to stick it as close as you can. (my own stupidity with a nervous mishit got me the 4th one, LOL )
And if you read this before you play R1, beware hole 15. where the hole placement is, the grid says there is a break, but there wasn't for me, both ways. I played the break it said, and the ball went straight, past the hole. Coming back, I said, you aren't gonna get me twice, so even though it said the same break was there, I played it straight and it went right in.
Just a side note- For a practice round, I played a course called Ridgewood, that only had 40 plays, just because thats where the next pga event said it was. I figure that courses not submitted here are not considered, which I understand perfectly. But if your just looking for a course to play for fun, that one is well done, I thought. Its short, but challenging with the tree placements, and the designer did really well with the rolls and undulations... it looks real.

Well I went ahead and played my rd1 and rd2 for the upcoming tournament in CC-E first round was pulling everything left and couldn’t hit one close and only made 3 birdies and shot a ugly 75 second round I was able to straighten it out toward the end of the round and almost holed out both approaches on 17 and 18 but was able to convert the birdies to shot 3 under on the back and a second round score of 1 under par 70, not happy with how it’s going but hoping I figured something out with my swing the last few holes (p.s. these greens are hell to putt on from over 15 feet )

Just finished playing the 1st round at New Hope and fired a personal best 57 -14! I was -8 after 9 and had a feeling I was in store for something special, but never thought I would shoot that low! I’m pretty happy right now! Enjoy the feeling now and then get ready for rd.2!

Well all I have to say is WOW changed one of my settings to back to how it was originally and then played a practice round to get ready for round 3 and shot a 62! Can’t believe how much of s difference that little change made , this was like the 4-5 round I’ve played on this course and the best I could muster before this was a 70 ... got high hopes going into round 3 now ... maybe can right the ship a little after the bad start of the week

-28 after 3 rounds. 64-60-61. Pretty happy but 3rd round 61 had 2 bogies. Eagled both par 5s in round 3 which was happy with. Poor week last week after miserably failing to stay in CCPro on exemption the week before. Moved into a new house and took me time to get used to my surroundings when playing - my excuse and i am sticking to it :-)

Wow looking at all the scores coming in .... this course was playing super easy , don’t know why I’m having so much trouble with it, currently sitting in 107th out of 116 players ... ouch! That stings maybe a couple good rounds can keep me from getting a some strikes

That stings maybe a couple good rounds can keep me from getting a some strikes I had a feeling this would be the case, in my practice rounds I was seeing plenty of opportunity for low scores depending on the winds. What are the winds like in R1 and R2?

What are the winds like in R1 and R2? Seemed like rd1 had decent wind at times with a lot of cross wind ... atleast my shots seemed to be effected a lot by them , rd 2 was better

Started my 2nd round. Tee shot hooked left, never do that. If anything I slice right. So, it’s stsrting off bad, but I manage par and from then on I right the ship and shoot -9 (62) flayed my 3rd round and I continue my form and shoot -10 (60) for a -34 and in first place! Need to take a step back now. My knees are shaking! Lol
