SEASON 27 UPDATE:
Here is the spreadsheet for the new Season 27:
S27 - Scores, Matches, Tables & KO Cup
The extracted matches for Event 1 will be in the post that follows. However first to explain what has changed:
Main League:
I have a had few people request to have a break; some have stopped playing; and some have never had a forum tag and one new player (roadkillron) has met the criteria as a new player. After much consideration I have moved to 3 divisions of 8 players. This means we have lost 7 players from season 26 and gained 1.
My method of seeding was the new starting order that would have applied if we had all 30 from last season. I then removed the leaving players; added the new player at the bottom; and then split into 3 groups of 8.
Now that we are back to only 8 players, there will only be one promotion and relegation spot at the top and bottom of each division (like it used to be).
Old MMM Side Event:
This has to follow the same format as the Main League so I have reduced to only 8 Masters clubs players based on the top 8 of last season. Note I may have moved some seedings around within the top 8 to avoid it aligning with the Main League.
All others are still in the Reserves. Assuming no further changes next season, we will have two relegation spots this season and the top two finishing reserves from the Main League will get in next season.
It's A Knock-Out Cup:
With only 24 players and only 7 events in the season, there have been some significant changes to the recently added knock-out cup. The new format is:
Event 1: There are 16 matches in the "round of 32" but 8 of these are byes so there are only 8 actual matches
Event 2: This will replay any of the 8 actual matches that were not decided in Event 1. Tied matches are decided by the Tie-Break rule (i.e. worst seeded player wins)
Event 3: There are 8 matches in the Round of 16
Event 4: This will replay any of the 8 matches that were not decided in Event 3. Tied matches are decided by the Tie-Break rule (i.e. worst seeded player wins)
Event 5: Quarter Finals. Tied matches are decided by the Tie-Break rule (i.e. worst seeded player wins)
Event 6: Semi-Finals. Tied matches are decided by the Tie-Break rule (i.e. worst seeded player wins)
Event 7: The Final. Tied matches are decided by the Tie-Break rule (i.e. worst seeded player wins)
In Event 1, the brackets have been set up with a Bye match then a full match then a Bye match then a Full Match and so on.
There are no longer any predetermined byes. The spots in the draw have been selected completely at random using wheelofnames.com. I will do this in all future seasons from now on.
If you have any questions, please post here.
NB: The actual playing is no different. Play each of the 7 events in the society; keep an eye on your Rival for each event; have fun; and I'll do the rest.
Enjoy Season 27!
