geekedongolf.com/2017/11/18/my-favorite-template-with-brett-hochstein-jon-cavalier/Here's a detailed look at the Leven 5th hole. Might not hurt to follow Jon Cavalier on Twitter and Instagram @linksgems and try to get in touch with him. Tell him you are doing a virtual build and would love to see any or all of his CGC pics. I am planning on trying to make it out for the Senior Womens Open this summer. I imagine the crowds might be thin, so I should get a pretty good look at it.

Here's a detailed look at the Leven 5th hole. That's the exact hole that piqued my interest in the course. Saw that overhead photo while scrolling through an article a while back and it jumped off the page as a truly unique looking hole. Appreciate the other tips, too, and think there's a decent chance I can get my hands on some green/pin info....we're just a ways away from that at this early stage of the game

I have been thinking of the wrong course. Remembered Fox Chapel (I think) by same designer that played even better in game than Chicago.

Some guy named Lindholm, or something to that effect, made the original in TGC1. It was really well done I felt and I recall playing it many times, really flat with undulated greens and really neat compelexes.

Pete Kohelis did fox chapel also designed steamshovel and Pittsburgh field club to name two. Pitt19something. John Lindholm as royce mentioned did Chicago

and I'm assuming since CGC isn't in tgc2, he (Lindholm) gave the game up and/or just didn't port it over?

Went ahead and spent the morning doing the tedious task of positioning the holes within the plot. Didn't do this with Albany because, honestly, I didn't think about it nor see posts from others using similar methods...but despite it being a bit of a pain to do all the measuring, it should be really nice to have everything properly positioned as the build progresses. Ran into some issues with spacing on Albany because I completely eye-balled the plot/layout, and my 1st attempt at this method here isn't perfect - but it's pretty damn close I think....so this setup should be a big help establish the base layout, will make minor adjustments as I go along.

Got textures down on the first 2 holes. It's a bit time consuming, but I think the strategy I'm using to map out the fairway edges and green shapes is going to work well (fingers crossed).

Now if someone would do Shoreacres, we would basically have N.A. Golf Architecture 101 nailed down.

Yeah, I recruited Andy from the Fried Egg to consult on it and make sure I get the greens right. Sadly since he agreed he's been MIA, which is understandable considering he is busy covering PGA events and playing the top courses in the country. Still going to try and nag him throughout the summer though.
