Whats up with the crazy slopes and hills near the pins on the greens. I will be 3ft from hole and overshoot it by a foot and the ball rolls 30 feet from pin.

Rest of the course is super easy, so in spite of the huge rise on #14, scores are among the lowest overall for all flights of CC-Am.

We haven't determined what courses are up after week 26, but we should be announcing them within the next couple of days.

Guys - if you are on a hyperfast green (170+), within in a few feet of a downhill pin, barely tap the ball, and I mean the absolute minimum of backswing with the putter. Practically get down on the grass and gently blow the ball (phrasing).

Im wrong The Aventinus Club course is just as bad. The problem is that i get very frustrated the greens take all the fun out of the game. I will get over it.

Go to Practice area, and work on being able to pull stick back like 1 millimeter at most. If you’re on a downslope and hitting it with enough power to be a foot past, that’s waaaay too much power. Also, are you bringing the aiming marker close enough to you? So, for e.g. with fast greens, an 8 foot putt going down 2 inches, I’ll take the aiming marker to about 4 feet at most.

One thing I have found is that if I practise on the harder courses I find the CC courses easier afterwards - a friend & I have a private society that mimics the current PGA Tour, and After getting demoted down to CC-Z, I found that after playing Riviera, Augusta etc in our private society (no green grids, only aid on was the scout camera) I was easily able to get better scores on the CC tournaments, and in the last 2 tournaments I won in CC-Z and then immediately got a 14 on CC-E to gain an exemption into CC-D - I honestly believe this would simply not have happened had I not been playing the hard courses from the back tees. I have also found that the slower greens are far more problematic as a downside.....it is really hard making myself hit them hard enough sometimes - the point of all this being that the comment above is the finest putting advice I have ever read - get on those practise greens before going out.

It's good advice, stolen unashamedly from Doyley of course. Subtract (downhill distance+2) from (distance to hole) and set putting marker accordingly. Tiny little backswing and the ball won't go flying past the hole. It might not go in, but it'll leave you an easy second putt. Of course on complicated long putts it's accuracy fades somewhat, and the +2 can be altered to +3 for the really fast greens or dispensed with completely for slow greens. Ex. 1 Green speed: 165 Distance: 8ft Downhill: 2" 8 - (2+2) = 4 Set putting marker to 4ft. Ex. 2 Green Speed: 187 Distance: 15ft Downhill: 5" 15 - (5+3) = 7 Set putting marker to 7ft. Ex. 3 Green Speed: 144 Distance: 47ft Downhill: 23" 47 - (23+0) = 24 Set putting marker to "Good luck with that!".

I've found that, in TGC2, you need to pull the putting marker even closer to yourself when putting downhill. I now use a factor of 1.5 when putting uphill and downhill.
Also, when putting on very fast greens (180+) I don't add the two feet when putting downhill, and I add three feet when putting uphill.
