Thanks Kerry. The lighting is actually set at about 3:50pm but I've gone with totally clear conditions and brightest green colour palette plus the reddish tone that reflects off all the rocks. Personally the thing I'm most happy with is the quality of the light. It may not be the prettiest lighting (like say Ember Ridge) but I think it captures the typical clear blue mid-late afternoon tropical Aussie light.

Swapped out my 5 wood for a trusty 25 foot extending ball retriever before stepping out on this Turns out I didn't need it - even in the highish winds which were sweeping over the island hopping, archipelago plot. Tonnes of interesting options off the tees (I used the player clubs from the tips) & if you're conservative you will get rewarded. Finished 10 under which really should have been -12 as I missed an easy birdie putt on 17 hitting it too hard & ended up 3 putting for a bogey Should do well in the contest Ken - best of luck to you.

I'm definitely jealous SAM. Wish you played on the Gaystation then I could play your ghost and watch how you managed that. Great round on players!

Played this beautiful course with tour clubs. Managed -4 67. I’ll try it with player next.

Absolute cracker of a course Ken, 5 stars for me.
Fantastic job in recreating the Kakadu wetlands given the limitations of the designer (they need some red / ochre textures in the palette); thought i was back there and was looking off each of the low tees to check there wasn't a big croc lurking.
Echo Terry's comment re flat lie and the added intimidation of the water.
Only played one round off the tips but will be returning again; a real strategic course with multiple options off the tee and fairway. Very happy I got around using only 1 ball !!
I assume we will be seeing this soon on the Seniors Tour (I hope).

Thanks karma4u. It's nice to see what it looks like with longer draw distances!

To all Players, Society schedulers and VctryLnSprts contest judges: Thank you for playing Kakadu Wetlands but please don't just opt for the back Black tees. A lot of thought went into placing the Gold and Red tees. On the majority of holes the risk / reward dynamic and/or the angles of play will be radically different. Standard and Player club users will probably enjoy the Red and Gold tees more than the Black. Tour club players will have a very different challenge - do you have the balls to go for the 3rd green off the Red tee?

Thank you to VctryLnSprts for running the design competition and to all the judges that took the time to critique our courses. I'm stoked to have placed 2nd with Kakadu Wetlands. The announcement stream link is here with Kakadu Wetlands being roughly the middle hour of the three: As for the 17th green complex, see if you can spot the similarities with one of these ...

Very well done Ken & a deserved 2nd place on the podium. Played Kakadu 4 times now & scored well every time - just something about it that suits my game. Really hoping it gets a spot on the Web.com tour.... I might be in with a shout for an exemption

He did once schedule Kentash Bay for Web which is the only course I've had on Tour so far.

As for the 17th green complex, see if you can spot the similarities with one of these ... Ah, my bad, I can definitely see it now as far as the people around the campsite. I apologize for my comments then, since it was clearly me that didn't understand what was going on there.

I apologize for my comments then, since it was clearly me that didn't understand what was going on there. No apology needed. It was a bit obscure! FYI, it is mirrored by the camp fire in the glamping area on the plateau. I note you spotted the escarpment waterfall quite late. Did you also spot my attempt at solar panels on the clubhouse roof? Regardless thank you for the critique. It was all very constructive. Sometimes the ideas you have as a designer don't come across in practice.
