That's all ok, I re-watched the second half of your tutorial and have since been busying myself with the measurement tool, marking out holes and green sites and clearing / flattening the area. So far I have holes 1, 2, 3 and 9 marked out, I know where I want the rest of the front 9 to go and I know exactly what 10 is going to do and roughly where the back 9 will go. As a complete newbie to this I'm finding it quite exciting but still finding the land sculpting a bit awkward. It's probably going to be cobblers but it's going to be MY cobblers!

I feel your frustration with sculpting. I am trying a local course as an RCR so I wanted to get the general elevations close so that my measurement are close. What a pain! I wish the tools showed the elevation total as you use it. I did use a measurement mark to check elevation but it gets cumbersome. Oh well, I did make a test course just for practicing what each tool can do and how to make nice natural slopes. Getting better but far from proficient. Addicting though.

On cobblers: Not to worry Jamie! Eric's first attempt looked like the leftovers from what his dog barfed up... And my first could only dream of reaching the dizzying heights of Eric's first try.

Ha ha To be fair I'm not even trying to design a tour worthy course, I know that first up that's way too ambitious. My aim is to produce something that's fun to play and looks good, maybe even good enough for the RRCC, that would be the ultimate. I'm not going to rush it, that's for sure. I've just finished work, this is now my weekend so I'm in the pub as usual but for the first time ever thinking I'd rather be somewhere else! A bit of slightly drunk designing might be in my immediate future..

An off-the-wall question, but is it possible/permissible to import Unity files into the course designer files in TGC-2? Or is this strictly in the realm of the Devs?

No, and HB is not inclined to allow custom objects because it would require them to police the content to ensure suitability.

Thanks ErixonStone. I thought that would be true, but had to ask just to know for sure. Thanks.

I started messing around in the designer. I want to recreate a local course I grew up playing. I am glad I found these videos. Big help because I was stuggling with the tools. I may have to tweak some of the holes as far as length but I think it will convert into a decent course to play here. I think I will have some fun creating it, already found some topography to work from. Thanks again! I’ve been working on a google doc on how RCRs work... want me to message you the link? Any chance I could get this if you still have it please? Thanks
