Which to do like more?
I go with pie. The icing on cake leaves a weird feeling in my throat. Pies have a much better texture.

By God, there is no contest! Pie > cake!
Amen.

Both are good but you cannot be a great pie. Pecan pie and Cherry Pie are my favorites. I love these food fights, great idea Mr. Kessler!

In the UK the two things are totally different so can't really be compared in the same catagory. A pie generally is savory and uses fillings such as steak, pork and chicken or perhaps meat and potato or cheese and onion, whereas a cake is sweet and would often be made of sponge with fillings and coatings of whipped cream, icing, chocolate etc. Some examples : Some pies A cake We do also have the more sweeter variety of pie which is probably more akin with what you would be used to in the US such as apple or lemon meringue. Yep, same in Australia and I love both

Basically, here in the states your "meringues" would be our pies. Then we call those meat pies "pot pies" (no that's not like the drug lmao)
