Do all player have the same wind for each round? If you play 2 rounds in a day do you get the same wind? Just curious as I'm going trough q-school. How often does wind change for courses? each round? each day?

For tournaments and tours, everyone has the same wind (even across all platforms). For standard rounds, the wind is the same for everyone at that moment, but the wind is dynamic (ever changing slowly) and thus across a day it will be changing and moving around like in real life.

It should be noted that all players have the same wind direction/speed within a few degrees and a few MPH. Wind in tournament and tours can fluctuate.

Yeah sorry, it's not exactly the same in tournaments, but very close

The same type of wind with some small variations. Not EXACT I get it.
What I was getting at was if I play round 1 and the winds are calm-ish I CAN'T assume I can play round 2 ALSO in great non-wind. Right?
Does that make sense?

Right? Does that make sense? What the wind does in Round 1 has no bearing on what it does in Round 2, if that's what you mean?

I think what i was getting at was a "cheat" where if round 1 was great conditions I could play round 2 right away with the same wind.
OR if round two SUCKS, will suck for everybody that plays round 2.

Nope, wind is different round to round in tours, so you could go from 1mph on 18th round1 to 17mph on 1st tee round2 just 1min later.

Wind will vary from round to round, but it's the same for everyone. It doesn't matter when you play your rounds.
If the wind is blowing 18 MPH in your face on the first tee, it's 18 MPH in everyone's face whether they play on Sunday or Monday or Thursday or whenever.
Wind does change as you set up, so the wind isn't EXACTLY the same as everyone else, but it's really close.

It used to be a problem where people would start a tourney round standing at the first tee, find that it was windy and back out. then come back later when it wasn't windy. We called them Wind Waiters. The developer patched the game so that can no longer happen. Now we all play in similar conditions during the tourney rounds. There is no way around it. If a round is windy, you are going to have to deal with it

Hopefully I enter my first Tour next week (But Strat-o-matic cards do come out . .) and just thinking of logistics

Here is what I have discovered about the wind. As somebody said, if on the first tee, you find the wind 18 mph in your face, it will be that way for everybody.
However, and this requires a lot of patience and achieves very little gain, if you stand there and just wait, you MAY find that that the wind MAY drop to 17 or even 16 mph. But you won't suddenly find it dropping to 5 mph. So yes, there are slight fluctuations, but if you've got strong winds in your face, that waiting around won't get you more than 1 or 2 mph difference. And, it could also go the other way as well.
And not only that, changes can happen in a split second.
For example, and I'll never forget this round because it cost me an exemption by one stroke.
I was making my approach shot. The winds were blowing left to right at 13 mph. I adjusted for a 13 mph wind. Just as I took the shot, the wind gusted to 15 mph. This was just enough to send my ball off course so that it landed on the dirt just left of the water and then proceeded to bounce in the water. I managed to salvage a bogie on that hole but finished the tournament 1 shot out of the exemption spot.
Point is, yes, there is some luck involved as far as when you happen to make your shot because, no, the wind may not necessarily be exactly the same as it was for somebody else on that hole, and yes, it can, such in my case, make a huge difference, just like in real life, but for the most part, everybody gets the "same" wind.
It's just that somebody's "same" wind may just happen to be a little better than somebody else's "same" wind.

Yea - When I say "same" I mean same general direction and strength. I understand normal fluctuation. I just didn't want one guy teeing off with a tail wind of 5-8 and another guy a day later with a head wind of 15-20.
Thanks all. Question answered - BTW - WIND - ANOTHER awesome randon-ish component that beats the competition
