A few things. You probably won't hear of anyone specific being chosen as that would violate their agreement. I had 'heard' beta was supposed to start in February so there is still time.

So I assume anybody chosen will have a non disclosure to sign or they'll be in violation too and be thrown off the beta testing team?

I understand the logistics of making a beta for consoles but the bulk of players are on consoles. Console users would have a lot of input as to how TGC2 is coming along and how it plays on the consoles, as there is a difference on how it plays on the computer. To me HB is telling me as a console user we feel it is more important to only hear from the select computer people (200 of them). Again I understand how it works getting a beta out but console users seem to be at the bottom of the food chain. How about other console users state how they feel about it.

I'm not sure how you get the stats, but if you're correct and most players play on XBox and Playstation, then yes, it would seem to me that they should be the priority as well. I don't understand the logic otherwise but I'm sure they must have their reasons.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the main reason for the beta to test for bugs/issues on a wide range of different (PC) systems? No offense, but every console is exactly the same so they can do most of that testing 'in house'.

I'd say there probably is a bit of that, but mostly it is the fact that over a 2 week beta period they can get almost daily builds out to the beta testers. Console users need to take it up with Sony and Ms. They prioritise approval depending on many factors from what I can tell, often it would take 2 or 3 weeks to approve an update on console with no way to bypass that. Allowing console users basically stops them getting the most out of the patch so is counter productive. Sucks but not HBs fault. Using Unity compatibility is mostly handled by their engine so they won't worry too much about it IMO. BTW the sign up page is still active so I doubt they have issued all keys if any. They want to review the signups and get the right mix for the testing they want happening. I think they said it would be open for signups for a couple of weeks.

The reason HB is NOT allowing Consoles to beta test is because if they need to patch the program to fix issues and have console players to continue to play, they have to go through the Sony/Microsoft servers to patch it. Which doesn't happen immediately. Sony/Microsoft has a procedure that can take 1-4 weeks to allow and update patches to console games.
PC's on the other hand can be patched by simply downloading the patch directly from HB. So HB can get out any patches pretty much immediately, or once the player loads up the game on PC. They can't do that with Consoles.
This is pretty much the only reason why they won't do beta testing for the public on consoles. It would take them 6+ months to do what they can do in 3 weeks on PC.
