Now as I'm getting ready to use my exemption next week as I was curious as to just how different the scoring is from tour to tour. Obviously the schedulers try and get more difficult courses for the top tours so it's not a direct comparison but I thought it was interesting nonetheless. Scores only taken from those who have played 5 events minimum. Make of it what you will...

What I find interesting is that there is roughly 9 shots between the best player's average and the worst player's average in both the PGA Tour and European Tour. That's 9 shots per round...crazy! Contrast that to real life where the best player on the PGA Tour (Dustin Johnson) was only 5 shots better than the worst player (Bowditch) on average. Web.com and Euro Tour IRL both had around 5 shots difference too. That means the gap between the best and worst on our top tours is twice as large as real life. No wonder the cutline peeps get disillusioned.
Web.com Tour there is 7 shots difference but the Challenge Circuit is much closer between the divisions... Only 3 shots separating the best and worst in CCA. Whilst there is 4 in B, C and D and 5 in E making for tight competitive divisions. CCZ has a huge gap of around 13 though?
TST obviously has the biggest gap as people of all skill levels play that tour.

Love your stats as always Luke! The real tours or lower tours here for that matter don't have the Ian Sweeney factor though

Indeed. Sweeney is 6.5 shots better than the average Euro player. Insane.

Being VERY new to this "game" I find the stats fascinating. I've only play 7 rounds and am practicing for Q-School which I HOPE can get me into CCZ??? I need to graduate Q-School though right before ANY tourneys I assume. At least on a windy day I'm close to the WORST in CCZ (only 7 rounds remember) LOL
Coming over from Rory I just want to say this is an outstanding community.

CC-Z is where you'll go after you get 3 demotion strikes. I actually thought I would be going straight to Z, but with 2 strikes on me, I got a S.E. to CC-D wiped those out. Now I'm on Z because I was away for 3 months.

Now I'm on Z because I was away for 3 months. You are in CC-Z because you registered/did not play for 3 events in CC-E. If you were away and never registered you would have returned to the same flight you left on.

How do I get demotion strikes (so I can stay away). a few more rounds and next week I'll begin Q-school. If I can stay away of my nightmare holes I'm all good . . . JUST LIKE REAL GOLF!
That is the big difference in TGC over EA Rory. Off the fairway in "trouble" with Rory is not a big deal. TGC - IT'S A BIG DEAL! (for me at least)

9 shots between top and bottom for four rounds is a lot of strokes.
