Hi guys,
After a bit of a GNCD hiatus since I completed Congressional I've finally got around to working on a few projects, one being this one.
Inspired after watching the World Cup at Royal Melbourne and the Australian Open at Royal Sydney I got to thinking about creating an Alister MacKenzie/Sandbelt looking and playing track, and after a couple of weeks I've managed to get the Front 9 published for you guys to feast on, let me know your thoughts guys!
In true authentic Aussie fashion it's a fast and firm affair, enjoy!!

Thought the 1st green was unfair with a 5w in hand, hit a good shot but ball rolled of green to right,Course played too tough for me in those winds shot 2 over,Think this is designed for high lofters on PGA tour,no way could i get close on some of the greens in those winds.

Hey Rod, just a couple notes I jotted down while playing, hope you don't mind. - little strip of light rough before the L side fairway bunker on #1 (I think...easier to see in designer) - #2 looks great off the tee, as do most holes. Demanding tee shots and tough greens, like Ballylough down under. - great, wide-open setting with other green complexes in the background of other holes. - love #5, great look off the tee - maybe the only bunker I didn't like was greenside at #7 -hole #8 plays great. Fun option to take on the bunker for a better angle to green. - Another very tough pin on 8. On some greens I thought I might see Batman and Robin walk by the hole clinging to a rope :-) That said, nothing unfair, just very testy. - #9 also very fun hole. Tough to generate enough risk for risk/reward holes, but that's done right here.
Anyway, I liked it a lot. Keep this up and you just might make a name for yourself as a designer ;-) Looking forward to the whole 18!

Your a better player than that Yeltz, I played it 3 times once published under very similar conditions if say and I was hitting 3i hole high, to much club dude And by no means is it a lofters paradise, I thought it played great under the wind strength, looking forward to some new winds this arvo, see you out there sometime mate

Ha Glad you enjoyed your round, the greens are tricky but as long as your aware of the speed it's pretty manageable, no phantom breaks or that I too am a bit on the fence with the bunker on 7, it won't stay like that now that you've mentioned one of my concerns too Looking forward to tackling the back 9, cheers!

My original post crashed and I re-wrote that last one in a hurry, but wanted to add I found the greens to be fair. #1 is tough if you miss, but easy to leave an uphill putt for me in tail and headwinds.

Really enjoyed the course Rod, IMO you've achieved what you wanted, the ligthning fast greens are as they should be. Challenging but fair.
The bunkering is very intimidating. Perhaps I'd love to see some of the fingers of rough a bit raised above the sand, but only for aesthetical reasons.
I really like the ligthning you're using, solid effort bro

Well, for me...i really believe that this is going to be the best course Rod has ever done and, has the potential to be one of the best courses in TGC1........ This, IMO, will most definitely be a TGC2 course.... Just teasers..........i absolutely love where this course is going.........Cheers
