REMINDER OF WHAT THIS ISThe Daily Round is pretty much what it says on the tin - one round per day, and it's open to anyone from any tour.
It'll run for one month at a time - therefore this is where you sign up when it all kicks off on
Thursday, December 1st.
The format is simple enough, with a little twist thrown in.
Starting on the first day of the month and every seven days thereafter, I'll create the tour and post up the seven courses for the next seven days (I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this). Now if you want to you can play all seven rounds in one day, two days, whatever takes your fancy, but the next seven won't come until seven days after the previous ones have been posted.
The general point here, and the way I will play this, is one round per day, but of course the choice is yours. One a day gives it a nice relaxed feel and gives you at least one competitive round per day to enjoy even on non TGC Tour official round days and away from any other community events you take part in that are going through a quiet period between rounds, or you have been eliminated from etc.
Fear not - you will always have your
Daily Round.
I will of course post leaderboards up after each seven day period to keep everyone aware of how they are doing in a nice, clear, easy to read format and graphic.
Like the RRCC Tour, you do not HAVE to always play your seven rounds (though it's better if you do) every week, you can also choose to dip in and out whenever you desire, yet will still be included on the leaderboard.
I will track stats such as rounds played, scoring averages and other random numbers to keep the stat-heads among you happy (I am one of them too!).
The catch here is how the scoring works.
For each round within its seven round block, the top 10 all get their hands on some points. The winner (stroke play, lowest score, obviously) will receive 10 points, down to 1 point for 10th. Added to this is how many strokes you win by - a four shot win gets you 14 points for the round, a one shot win would be 11 points and so on. If there is a tie both players get 10 points with no bonus received. This system allows for plenty of varied winners and, importantly, plenty of points to be played for and made up on those above you. Have a bad round one day? No problem, do well in the next days round and pick up plenty of points when other players may not.
There will then be a 10 point bonus for the player who totals the highest points over that seven day block.
There are no tangible prizes here, aside from a lovely graphic I'll make you if you win a weekly block, and your pride amongst fellow TGC gamers at playing the game we all so love, plus a weekly prize for being the best in your tour, split into PGA/Euro, Web, Challenge Pro (A/B/C) and Challenge Amateur (D/E/Z), so even if you will struggle against the bigger hitters, you can still claim the honours in your own tour group.
Reporting your results will follow the usual format, either screenshotted score cards or simply posting the numbers, we'll go by the honour system if you can only manage the latter, as I seriously don't think anyone here will tell porkies over such matters.
