Well looks like I might get the day off from work so I should get close to finishing. First snow storm of the year. Took the dog for a walk on the golf course I live beside. Anyone think think they can make this tee shot into the gusting 70 km/h cross wind? That tree behind in the opening is only like 220 yards away!

Just waiting for the lakes to freeze in these parts as there are some who actually plow paths on the lakes and golf in the winter. As a kid, once a layer of snow/ice formed on our driveway, I'd start hitting lob wedges down toward the end of it. About a 60-yard shot downhill. Someone definitely turned the dials up to fast/firm, too. A little snow in these parts today too. Home in the afternoon, but have to go back in this evening.

I'm aiming for a next Friday finish. I've reached the point in course creation where it's just the little stuff. The problem is, there's a lot of little stuff. Every hole is done, all of the greens are done. I've play tested numerous times (after adding something small things. I'm getting antsy to publish, but I know it's not done yet. You shouldn't have to wait too much longer mayday_golf83. I know you must be anxiously awaiting a look at some of your competition. Hopefully titaneddie and SweetTeeBag aren't too far off.

I was hoping to be done and like you Scampii was itching to publish....then I decided to waste a bunch of time on things I'm sure no one will notice, then ripped out the green complex on 16 and have decided to redo 18. But in saying that I have 17 holes completely done. I know how i want to do 18, and then just a little clubhouse work. I dont think I have any free time this weekend but I would hope to be done by next weekend.

As Scampi says, and many of us here can attest, that last bit polish at the end is perhaps the most tedious and time-consuming part of the process, but it also can be what makes an OK course good, a good course great and a great course into a masterpiece. I always keep a notebook handy when I'm play testing and the second something catches my eye, I write it down. Maybe it's another bunker here, some bushes there, a tweak to the sculpting. Can't even begin to count how many edits I come up with doing this, most probably won't even occur to the player in the final product, but I know make the course look/feel/play better. So how much tweaking does a course need? Got this saying from a barbecue forum a while back, and it applies perfectly to the design process: "It's done when it's done." I know that sounds vague, but you'll know as that's the point when you go from thinking, "Eh, this is good enough," to, "This is freaking perfect." That's when it's time to hit publish and let the chips fall where they may. Coming up on three weeks to go, gents, still plenty of time to fine-tune your masterpieces.

Course is finished! Just a couple small things to add to complete the back story and few more play tests. If I can avoid the woman tonight I should be ready to publish by morning. Guess I'll have time to buy christmas gifts after all.

I should be publishing either much later tonight, or tomorrow morning. I am so ready to be done. Game keeps crashing. Finally added the cartpaths and now the game is really straining. I really want to add more throughout the course, but the game just ain't having it. It will still be an outstanding course. Can't wait to play the other two.

Sounds like I'll get a full night at home tomorrow night, so definitely looking forward to giving it a spin!
