Almost a year ago I started a Ladder play league for PS4. It was based on match play after HB had made it available for online play. Unfortunately, the issues with online match play games disconnecting eventually turned it into a frustrating effort for a lot of us.
I'd like to bring it back but using 9 hole stroke play on 18 hole courses with holes 10-18 used as sudden death until there is a winner.
Before I do it, I want to gauge the interest. Because it is live player vs player, I cannot make it cross platform but I'll be happy to share the setup if someone wants to do it on XB1 and PC as well.
The general setup is as follows:
1. Stroke play for 9 holes. If tied after 9, each hole after is a sudden death hole until there is a winner.
2. Course played is chosen by the person that is challenged.
3. Players will decide who enters results on this site after the match.
4. A successful challenge (challenger wins match) will cause the winner to take the loser's place on the ladder and the loser will drop down one place.
5. Challenges are limited to 7 places above your current position.
6. Challenges expire after 48 hrs - no result.
7. A player can only challenge another player once within a 7 day period.
8. Dares allow members to dare others to challenge them.
9. If inactive for 10 days, a player will drop one position on the ladder.
Initial ladder position is set by when you join. If you are the 2nd person to join, you begin at #2. If you are the 100th person to join, you start at 100.
So, how many people would be interested in having a ladder? If I see at least 10, that would be enough for me to launch it and get people to join following the launch.
