I usually don't run events, but I've been having this idea for a while now and wanted to get some feedback or possible ideas from you guys to try and get this going. It might be a horrible idea not worth doing, but I'd appreciate you telling me so if that is the case. In short this will be a mixture of the RRCC tour run by @edi_vedder , The 9 hole competition that Audentior runs and the newly found Rage Quit Tour by punchnclown . Please don't think I'm trying to steal your ideas. Tagged you to show appreciation and perhaps you guys can contribute with some ideas you might have on your own to make this Randomness work.
This is the Random Competition so a fair amount of the end result will be down to pure randomness. That's the whole point.
So what is it i'm trying to do?
I want to have a competition that runs from w.44 to w.9. That is 18 Weeks in total.
This would be a league style competition where a win in a match will give 3 points, a draw will give 1 point and a loss will give 0 points. No tie breakers. Not all will necessarily play everyone over the season as matches for each week will be drawn at random. On top of that there will be 3 players in each match.To make this thread more random and complicated I've thrown down some examples.
Example 1.
Player A -7
Player B -15
Player C - 12
Player B gets 3 points.
A and C gets 0 points
Example 2.
Player A -7
Player B -15
Player C -15
Player B and C gets 1 point. A gets 0 points
Example 3.
Player A -7
Player B -15
Player C -7
Player B gets 3 points. A and C gets 1 point
Example 4.
Player A -7
Player B DNF
Player C -12
Player C gets 3 points. A and B gets 0 points
Example 4.
Player A -7
Player B DNF
Player C DNF
Player A gets 3 points. Player B and C gets 1 point
The number of players / game means the number of participants shall always be able to be divided by 3. I therefor aim for 21, 24, 27, 30 etc players before we start. New players can be added throughout the season as long as we get 3 players for each expansion or can fill up spots from potential drop outs. 2 Straight DNFs results in a tour DQ. No exceptions, No pardons, No free passes. 3 DNFs on the season results in a tour DQ. No exceptions, No pardons, No free passes. Life can come in the way at times. I fully respect that. No harm no foul on those who can't play each week. It will give you a DQ though, but no one should be blamed or shamed. Edit: That might not seem entirely fair, but this tour has no intention of being fair as you will notice further down the post.
Each round will be played on 2 courses each week. There will be no selection from me or anyone else. It will be random.
There will be 2 types of courses. Edit: This means an event will be played on anything between 19 and 36 holes as all TGCTours approved courses ae 18 hole courses and random courses in-game is anything between 1-18.
1) 1 Course each week will be from the TGCT database. How it is picked will be different each time. Could be defined by theme, creation date, on tour etc. etc. The options are limitless (almost).
2) 1 Course will be picked from in-game at random. Could be from the public list, official, suggested or other lists.
The end of the tunnel. So who wins?
The player with the most points? Nononono. Not that easy. Advancing to the final event will be:
Top 3 + possible ties
1 player who is not part of this top 3 + ties will be picked at random. The only requirement to be eligible is that you've been on the tour since week 1 with no more than 1 DNF.
This means that 4 playes (or more in case of ties) will compete for 3 Prizes.
What these prizes are is not yet determined, but one of the reasons I have this running until the start of March is I want 1 of these prizes to be a copy of TGC2 on preferred platform.
2nd and 3rd spot will be a gift card of some sort. This all depends on how successfull this will be. For TGC2 to be part of the prize pool I want: No less than 44 players at tour start. No Less than 37 active players at the new years turn. No less than 30 players at tour end. Also. I'd like help from someone on Xbox to varify scores.
Ranom enough? Stupid as Phuchk? Interested?
Everything is up for discussion. Nothing is set in stone. Let me know what you think. I want something Random, but not silly. Can it be done?
