Due to the amount of criticism and abuse I have been getting in another tournament I have decided that it is time for me to leave the forums. I am sorry to have to end the tournament prematurely, as you have been a great group of people, but I hope that you understand my reasons. You can review the final league table in the link below.

Congratulations to Team 6 - David Andrews and Richard Euckert you are the champions. You played great through the entire tournament and are worthy champions. I want to thank all of you that played and especially my partner Michael Clark. As I posted the other day, he hasn't been keeping well of late so again I would like to wish him a speedy recovery. I already told you via pm Chris, but I want to say it here. I fully understand you, and fully support you in this decission. Credit where is due, and you've been a huge factor for the community. Thanks a million my friend

Great work as I have said 100 other times in 100 other places to Chris. I do not blame him one bit but selfishly I want the events to continue because they are almost more fun than the actual weekly events. Here we can put names with games and interact because we in some sense are at the same levels with hopes of advancing higher up. I look for your names in the other tournaments I play in to see how you all are doing and know that if certain players come up to play...I have my work cut out for me. This really freaking sucks for all of us. I'm all for keeping it going if its ran with the same commitment and direction Chris had for it.

Thanks again Chris. I hope you take a break get refreshed and give it another run. Maybe 1 event at a time. Your efforts will be missed. I think your events helped my game.

Really sad to see this happen.
Chris, you were the bloke who brought me into the community run side of things, and I appreciate it. If it wasn't for your events I probably would still be only playing the CC tour rounds. To echo David's sentiments, you have provided a platform for a lot of us lower tier players to get together and chat, watch each others progression and have some fun. Thanks mate.
This really is a dark day for the TGC Tours community.

Exactly what I told him. I wonder how many people could say the same? Agree that it's a dark day for the community

Wanted to chime in and say to Chris that you've done great things to allow "bad golfers" like myself to hang out, knock a few balls around and just have some great times, and for that your efforts are appreciated. I realize you've been stretched to the breaking point with all the competitions you host, so your reaction is understandable. I was witness to the issue that drove this, and hope you realize the one bad apple notion doesn't apply here. The vast majority, nearly universally, respect your tireless, thankless work, and believe nobody else will do it as well as you did/do. I hope you see this, and all the messages of support.
To the individual who set this whole mess in motion (you know who you are, IL), step up like a man and admit your wrongdoings to Chris, promise you'll behave, and come back with a clean slate. You're not bigger than the game, and if you don't like the way something is run, calmly say so, and leave quietly with dignity. That said, I hope you come back, for you were an interesting read.
Let's break bread, fellows, and get back to playing Chris' great set ups, shall we?

Ha...I doubt that apology ever happens.
I stopped and thought that not only was he running D-Z events but also the A-C. Figure 3 or 4 events x 2 levels equals a whole lot of things to "manage" and bullshit to shovel. I've been in every event of his since I joined and it's alot of golf!! I'd love to do what he does in part for the community as a whole. I think if I got some guidance in order to gain a better understanding on how courses are picked, tournament setups, ect I'd be willing to fill some gaps that have been left. Maybe if two or three of us did this we could still get these extra swings in and have some fun. Here soon I will try and pick his brain and maybe step up and help once I feel comfortable in what I am doing.

I would offer but I have only been playing since early August so my knowledge is minimal and wouldn't be if any help. But I wish you all the best and I'm sure I say that for everyone. Maybe just set up a simple tour to start and gain from the experience of that to then set up more detailed tours? I hope to see a tour thread from you soon 👍

To everyone here in this fine Chris Loughrey event, Thanks so much for your kind words and expressions of making a speedy recovery. I'll be back, so be forewarned!! As to the termination of the event, I am saddened by this happening and I can fully understand the reasons. I will not and can not speak for Chris on this decision, but it is a sad day for all of us in the lower depths of the TGCT Challenge Circuit when something like this occurs. Chris was my partner on the Endeavour Team event and I could not have asked for a better person than him to take me around these courses and share some good times with. Both of us really struggled the last couple of weeks and our scores there reflected this. Mine for my medical issues, Chris's, well, I will not expound on that, but just know that we have to respect his ultimate decision to do what he must do for himself. I want this clearly understood, that these are my words, not Chris's. His decision has nothing to do with his inability to cope with criticism or complaints, rather it has to do with integrity and respect. The ability to play by the rules and most of all to have some fun were of importance to Chris. He knows that the majority of us really appreciated his efforts in giving us some good, quality events that we were sorely lacking and that we so badly needed to help us improve our skills and give us a kind of "Tournament" atmosphere that we were not going to get in the weekly events. For me, I was tired of getting my ass handed to me every time I entered an "other" event and was thoroughly slaughtered by someone from the upper tiers, playing on a course I had no business being on in the first place. Then, a few quality guys like Chris Loughrey and Peter Mollon came along and started to offer us some alternative events geared towards those of us in the lower levels to play with players of similar skill sets. My morale was boosted greatly and the fun came back into the game for me. Now, a medical problem is pulling me out of the competitive events for an undisclosed amount of time and then I see all of this crap going on with my partner. I felt really bad as I was abandoning my partner when he really needed me and he has to deal with something more than the usual complaints about the winds or the breaks on the greens, the ever increasing amount of "less than 100%" shots, the "cup physics effect" shots going on with the PC players. These are all HB issues and we all know that (should know that) and these are things out of the control of the event coordinator. Unfortunately, these things still are being cried about to the guys who run the tourney's and they get a little tired of hearing about daily. Then there are the integrity issues, things that players must accept their own responsibility for and sometimes try to side-step and not own it. In the climate of the social media world, things like this tend to take on a life of it's own and grows exponentially, it festers and becomes a poison engulfing all who may or may not be directly involved with. In this climate, some people may hide behind their keyboards, lashing out at others for a perceived injustice, making a mountain out of a molehill as it were. This may be the case here, I do not directly know it to be true or not, but what I do know is that we are now losing a very talented and dedicated person who really cared about those of us near the bottom of this social "hierarchy" of a golfing community. Integrity, fair play, admission of a mistake or misunderstanding, I personally think that is what Chris is all about and was pushed to far for him to really want to continue with his efforts. I agree with him about what he must do for himself but am sorely saddened to see it really have to happen. Let's hope that some where, some time down the road that he will want to pick up where he left off and come back and give us some of his quality events that we all enjoy and will sorely miss. Thanks so much for your efforts Chris and we will miss your events and your presence here in these forums Take care Partner............Michael..........

Thanks Paul.... I know a lot of the people playing here in Endeavour seem to be the same group playing in most of his other plays which is great because you can get a consistent group you can count on. If things go well with UnHolyOne revamping the Ryder Cup it would certainly be something I would entertain doing with some team plays, match plays, best ball...ect.
